I really don't like Holley acting as if Wallace's deal was good, saying things like "What were you really going to get for him? Gasol is a good player, but he's not a Kobe Bryant or Lebron"... That doesn't mean you trade him for the garbage Memphis got.

Because they weren't winning with him.

They won with him before when they had the role players around him

thats a lame cop-out excuse on Memphis's part

they hogtied themselves with bad deals and were forced to move Pau when the team performed badly because of the cap situation (brian freaking cardinal) they wanted to aquire assets and start over, except the forgot one major part, aquiring the assets!!! 2 late round picks and an expiring deal are good for starters, but i wouldn't have settled so quickly if i were memphis, marc gasol and mckey are non factors

horrid trade for memphis no matter how you spin it folks

Disagree, I think he'll turn out to be a pretty good player. Just cause he was stuck behind Fisher and Farmar in LA (as a rookie) doesnt mean he sucks.

Still though, he doesnt make the Gasol deal suck any worse. Inexcusable.

I agree that he could be a good player but now hes stuck behind Conley Jr and Lowry

Crittenton has an IQ that's as big as a size of a peanut.
And he's definitely not better than Conley or even Lowry.

I know, right? Holley was bashing Wallace for months over the Gasol trade and he wimps out when he gets in an interview. :nonono:

Still not even close to being his worst trade, which is downright pathetic.

The Vin Baker trade still easily takes the cake and dealing Joe Johnson to rent Rodney Rogers for a half-season isn't far behind.

Gasol is very much overrated by fans.

The guy is a right handed Raef LaFrentz without a 3 point shot and with some passing ability.

He's soft...doesn't rotate right....is slow....decent weak-side defender but atrocious one-on-one defender.

If AI gets you A. Miller and 2 1sts.....Gasol's trade is more than fair considering no other team was willing to pay 20 cents on the dollar for him.

C. Wallace did the best he could and he got the rights to Marc Gasol who is going to be 10x better than his brother.
