Lakers displayed their softness last night

The Lakers were killed on the boards, outmuscled for loose balls, and had no back-to-the-basket game whatsoever. And this not some abberation. The C's have played the Lakers three times this year and have beaten them by double digits everytime.

Like many fans here have stated, soft doesn't win championships.

Am I saying the Lakers are not going to win a game? No, Lakers will get some wins, but in the end, toughness, defense, and rebouding win championships and the Lakers are in short supply of those qualties.

If we're the underdogs then why are we supposed to win the first game? The media said we were the underdogs by the majority choosing LA. I've never had a doubt that Boston is the better team.

Funny your captain was sent to the locker room, and your center right after him and you guys trailed us most of the game.
Both teams played a good game and you actually have the nerve to come on here and post this again.

Relax , its only one game.
You held your H.C.A and every good team is suppose to do that.

Also we only played your team 2 times in regualr season, Nov 23, and Dec 30.
It would be nice if you can get your facts straight before you post.

Good for you, as every fan should be of his team.
Also thats what the term home court advantage means ....
It means we play 3 games in our court and you play 4 , again you guys held your home court. Props
What is the big deal?

inujuries = toughness?

perkins landed on pierces leg ...
lakers didnt do anythingto pierce on that play

and fisher tripped and fell into perkins leg...
again lakers didnt display any toughness on either play

It is interesting how almost all laker fans predicted win in game 1. After the loss all of a sudden it was expected.

Right ............ So how are the Lakers soft as the O.P has been blowing up every board with the same post over and over again for the past week as well as today?

I wouldn't say they are necessarily soft, but lets state the obvious:

Lakers front-court is playing out of position, Pau Gasol isn't a Center and Odom is more likely a SF but he can also play PF.

It's like having Perkins injured and KG playing Center and Posey playing PF.

Then it would be:

Rondo
Allen
Pierce
Posey
KG

vs.

Fisher
Kobe
Valadimir
Odom
Gasol

Much better match-up for Lakers and I'm sure Odom would get double digit rebounds on Posey and there wouldn't be a disparity or size advantage either way.

So in essence Lakers are only soft because their front-court has to play out of their positions.

The Lakers are overrated. San Antonio looked either done or out of gas.

Have the nerve to come here and post this? Its OUR board...

...do you see the word Lakers after 'RealGM Forum Index .>'? ...didn't think so.

I think the correct statement was that YOU had the nerve to come back and post here after all we've heard from Laker fans is how overrated the Celtics are and how you guys are the clear favorites.

Yeah, you are right, we were supposed to win that game it was at home, but we did and this is our board, let us have our fun (unless of course you have something worth of contributing....doubtful).

I'll agree with that as a C's fan....totally different series with Bynum in the middle and Gasol and Odom as the 3 & 4.

First of all, how is Boston leading all but the end of the 2nd quarter and first half of the third "trailing" the whole game, especially with all the lead changes and ties throughout the first 3 quarters. Second, if the Lakers had won game 1 on their homecourt all we'd hear is about how dominant they are. **** off and go back to Fakerland, troll.

Hey, the Lakers didn't make this game easy. This won't be an easy series, either. I'm still confident we win, but that didn't feel like a blow out to me last night. It felt more like a hard fought victory to me, our defense put the clamps on in the 4th and Lakers didn't do themselves any favors shooting down the stretch, but it was neck and neck until then. This is going to be the best finals in years, IMO, as much as I don't like the Lakers and just plain can't stand Kobe, they played a good game overall.

I agree, it wasn't an easy win for us. But I am sick and **** tired of Faker fans saying they blew it...ummm, no, the C's beat the Lakers, plain and simple.
