Cassell is already talking about where he wants to play next year.
Why the hell cant he wait till the finals are over, and not worry about next year????

A volume shooter who only passes the ball when it causes a 24-second violation ... this is a coach in making???

As for the rest -- guys always say positive things about playing somewhere when asked by a reporter from that city. Always.

I'm disgusted. Wiretap made a crappy title but none to less there is no way he should be answering questions about next year.

His head should be I'm not thinking about that right now or I'm trying to win a title currently.

He not only is the worst version of a ball hog PG, he doesn't even put his heart into where he is at currently. For someone whoes been trying to get back to the NBA Finals for over a decade he seems to care more about his stats and looking good then being there.

I'm absolutely appalled. I boo you right now Cassell, I boo you.

i really don't understand him. this team needs to be together and he's off talking about leaving next year. does he really think he can coach with that attitude? not to mention he's truly sucked and almost cost us the game with 4 terrible possessions in a row

what's going to happen when he coaches? he gets a team to the finals and in game 2 he's talking about where he's going to coach next year?

He just angers me so much. Every time he goes out there, it's "I have to get this done." And he will go out there, start making some crappy 30+ year old moves. And shoot a brick. And even if he hits the shot, he will walk back and be like yeah, yeah, then commit a foul.

He ruins ubuntu when he is out there with the big three. Who knows maybe it would have been different if he went to rome with the team. I was so off, when thinking that he would come in here and suddenly change, to a teammate first kind of player.

Plus the things he has said to the media. Things such like how he wants to be a coach of the celtics, then maybe the clippers, then how he does not get played enough, and then how he might play somewhere else next season. The guy never stops.

I know this might be going a bit far, but I wish we could just cut Sam.

We don't really need his ball handling skills since the Lakers don't press alot. Just bring House off the bench and all will be well.

Boston fans now get a taste of what Clipper fans had to deal with during the regular season. The difference is, Boston is the best team in the NBA right now up 1-0 in the finals. Even when things were going well in Clipperland Cassell was talking to the media about playing for Karl again. Then when things went south, he pretty much demanded to be let go and head for the team with the best record in the league. We all knew where he was headed. The Clippers (or at least Mike Dunleavy) didn't want to buy out his contract this season...but Cassell pretty much forced them into it in the papers.

It seriously rubbed me the wrong way but this is who Sam is I guess. He never leaves teams on great terms....even though he says he wants to come back and coach the Clippers. The guy just can't keep his mouth shut on or off the court.

Sam has been like this his whole career, nothing new to that. It just you have to take bad with the good that's all. Remember he took that Clippers team into the playoffs! A friggin' Clippers team, man! It's just he's to old now and the bad outweights the good.

Sam doesn't deserve grief like this. He played well in game 1. He shoots too much, but that is what he is brought in for. If he is hitting those shots, Celts become deadly.

I predict a big game 6 or 7 for Cassell. He is going to go nuts if he gets the opportunity at least once in this series. Lets hope he doesn't try to go nuts every game and take 12 shots in 12 minutes.

This is very hard to accept a former all star faded his game. He still feel the same. Anyway, It is not Boston loss if he opt and wish him cut.

Why play Cassell when you have a perfectly good (actually better) House instead?

Cassell is the point guard version of Antoine Walker at this point... all he needs is the wiggle.

Walker was always focused on his team winning. Even if he didn't know how bad he was. If this was in Sam's situation he would of blew off that question or blasted the reporter for asking about next year when he's going to play in game 2 of the NBA Finals.

On the court they're the same. Off the court Walker has heart and Sam doesn't.

I could care less about what Sam says in the media, because even though I have a problem with many of the decisions he makes on the court, he does bring his max effort to every game. He's always been a competitor, problem is his skills don't really fit with this team all that well. As for answering questions, Cassell just says what he thinks, I don't think he is letting anything distract him. Too many players almost fall into "I'm just focused on the next game" as a company line, a way to sound good and avoid talking to the media. I'd probably do the same thing, but Sam is garrulous and always has been. On a good note, even if I think he is making my hair turn grey almost every time he steps on the court, he is the only person on the second unit capable of creating his own shot, and is a better ball handler than House. I think people forget that at times the second unit's offense ground to a halt with House out there also, the same as with Sam but for the polar opposite reason that no one was willing to take a shot unless they were wide open (if Pierce or Ray weren't in that unit). I'd still rather see House against LA, but it could be just as frustrating at times.
