+/- Starters/Bench

Post#1 » by Fencer reregistered » Mon Jun 9, 2008 8:04 am

Celtics starters: +0
Celtics bench: +30
Lakers starters: +18
Lakers bench: -48

The really weird stat is that Brown had a +20 and Powe just a +6. I guess Powe was still in there for some of the Laker comeback, more than Brown.

More to the point, it confirms the theory that Brown played some very solid defense, while Powe is still more erratic in that regard.

We made a mistake taking the bench out at the end of the game.

They were playing with a lot of energy (playing for minutes? also Powe had something to prove since he was benched for so long) and the starters came back in and just killed it.

Hard to fault Doc for bringing the starters back in--anybody would have done it--but it didn't work out all that well.

PJ Brown is the unsung hero of the NBA Finals. His defense and rebounding are big coming off the bench.

Not to mention he's making his jumpers too.
