OT: ULTIMATE CONSPIRACY:How did ABC know Leon would go off?

ABC played the Leon Powe story at halftime. How in the name of Nostradamos did they know Leon would have a career game? Also is it coincidence he was player of the game and not Pierce? Pierce clearly deserved it more. Whats next, a story about Eddie House and his son at halftime of game 3 only to be followed by Eddie hitting the game winner? If fans vote for player of the game, I can understand why Leon was chosen, but man ABC....good timing. Can you say SPORTS EMMY?

lol. I think they have a lot of halftime segments setup beforehand and can pick and choose depending on which players are having a good game.

I'm sure ABC's vibes are what made Powe play so well. And the Lakers took a dive and didn't D up on him, right? And the furious comeback was just to keep viewers from turning it off when we were up 24, right?

Newsflash...the moon landing was real, Elvis and JFK are dead, and you're crazy if you think this was a **** set-up.

JVG mentioned the halftime story early on so it was set before he took off.

Batman, like Phil Jackson, will like to say that it's pronounced: Leon POW.

Jackson did so blatantly to emphasis his point to the media. Who's Leon Powe? Well, you know who he is now coach, don't you?

When Phil Jackson came to the postgame interview podium, he mispronounced Powe's last name and called him "Pow" (or "Pau").

Jackson's mispronunciation was relayed later to Powe, who chuckled at it and said his teachers used to do the same thing.

From here on out, it's highly unlikely anyone is going to underestimate the player Jackson referred to as "Pow."

"I'm not worried about people not pronouncing my name right. I ain't tripping off that," Powe said.

Even more of a conspiracy.

Kung Fu Panda was released, the lead character a Panda named Powe (or Po?)....either way pronounced the same.

ABC-Disney- promoting movies

LOL

Anyways, it was funny when Phil mis-pronounced his name because you know he did it on purpose. Phil is too intelligent and does too much research on his opponents not to know how to pronounce his name. And then to immediately reference mis-pronouncing his name.

It was like "how can this person shoot more FT's than my whole team? Who is this person?".....sorry Phil, the NBA actually didn't get your memo that every game is suppose to cater to only superstars.

And I guess when Big Baby had his big game vs. Detroit, the NBA must have been involved with it. Powe has played games this season that were probably better, so I wouldn't call it a career game. It amazes me that people can come up with this stuff.

i'm not sure what the panda stuff is about but for philip to diss leon just reinforces what a douchebag he is. philip shouldn't be dissing any nba player because he sucked.

haha. There are dozens of features and scripts created prior to the finals.

There are production meetings before every game going over various talking points and potential stories.

When a guy like Leon Powe comes into the game play-by-play and color guys know to throw out teasers leading into a story IN CASE he goes off. If Ronny Turiaf goes off I wouldn't be suprised to see a feature on how he speaks 5 languages and has overcome major heart issues. If Odom goes off don't be suprised to see a feature on how he lost his baby last year. If Fisher goes off don't be suprised to see another feature on his daughter. If Scal goes off don't be suprised to see a feature on how he sucks balls and eats italian food often.

Well maybe Powe just wanted to shine since he was on the spotlight. If he gets a halftime segment just for himself, he might as well display his full array arsenal and get the some recognition.

If they do a segment on Brian Scalabrine and he goes off for 24 THAT is when you know this whole thing is fixed.

I was impressed more with his Hungry Hungry Hippo prowess in that "NBA Cares" commercial break than anything he's done on the court.

Scal has already made a huge impact on this series. He played Hungry Hungry with deprived children because he has a heart of gold, and most importantly, helped carry Pierce to the locker room after his injury. I'm very proud of him this series. He's certainly been more effective than Sam Cassell...

Hey Phil, maybe you can have Mitch Kupchak throw some of your FA dollars at POW next offseason!
