The refs impact on Game 3
Bob Ryan states the Lakers will win Game 3 "Almost undoubtedly".

How many of us have that feeling? I know I do, the refs are going to make it a very uphill battle to take this game. I'm getting myself ready for a very aggravating night of TV.

I think when this game is over the Laker's are going to have to order take-out, all this home-cooking everyone is expecting probably isn't going to live up to the hype. If the Celtic's attack the rim things will be fine. Hopefully the Lakers aren't smart enough to keep going to Gasol, he kills us for a while and then they forget he exists.

If Vegas had a line on Ray Allen being on the bench with two fouls before the first media timeout, I'd be putting 20 down on that.
We have the Lakers coming off a 38-10 free throw disparity, the Celtics up 2-0 and the NBA wanting to extend the glamour series, Kobe likely looking to prove a point by being extra-aggressive right from the opening tip, and Ray Allen guarding him. It's a perfect storm.
I say he gets two fouls by the 8:30 mark.
Perkins, meanwhile, might have two during pregame intros.

And on to game 4 we go....
At least game 3 is where Bennett is put. It would be worse if it were 4 or 5.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

ps.....Doc was given a tech for complaining about the fouls.....
At least Doc won't use any of these lines for his post-games news conference:
"I'm more struck by the fact Rony Turfriak -- excuse me, Turiaf -- gets more foul shots than our whole team does in 14 minutes. That's ridiculous"
"The referees referee an illusion"
"Well, Ray got confused out there tonight, and that was difficult for him. Situations that got him into foul trouble and little offensive sequences that ‑‑ rather than just taking a shot or making the right play, looked like he was a confused player out there at times."
Phil Jackson has Zen Mastered being a loser.

See this is being misconstrued by all the complaining, the problem with Bennet isn't that he is anti-Celtic or pro Laker, it is that he is there to manipulate the outcome of the game pending on what Stern's wishes.
Watch for it tonight, I am actually going to try and track it. The guy hardly makes a call - then all of a sudden he is blowing the whistle left and right and wouldn't you know it coincides with a 10-0 run.

In my opinion, the difference in game three and probably game four will be the discrepancy in free throws between the two teams. I mean Bryant will likely attempt thirty to forty free throws to Boston's measly two or three tonight.
The network, Stern and national fans don't want to see a short series. Too much money and TV ratings at stake. This series will predictably go six games at the least. Stern or rather the referees will help Los Angeles save face for games one and two. I dislike going there... But, for this series, I've my doubts or suspicions. Especially, when the exact same referees don't call every games. You can't help but to begin to think this way.

I expect a 50-10 FT disparity between the Lakers and Celtics just from Salvatore's calls alone.
How that man holds a job as a professional referee is beyond me.
