Oh God I hope not...
When I saw the topic thread, I first thought whether I could beat tombattor to the punch with a NO, but then when I saw he started the thread, I fainted!

If there's anywhere that Cassell can find his shooting touch, it's in LA. He played with the Clippers earlier this year so he should be comfortable in the confines of the Staples Center.
FWIW, according to his player page on ESPN, the Globe reported that he's day-to-day with a sprained wrist. Perhaps we'll see another Eddie House emergence? Fisher and Farmar don't seem great at pressuring the ball, and the Laker wings won't be challenging RA and PP far out so they can take it up if need be.

Good point.
Instead of the terrible road play we've come to expect from him, a healthy Cassell could be expected to perform more in line with the poor home play he's shown.
yes he is

according to NBATV, Sam Cassell is expected to play.
I don't think he'll play anyways, though, it's all a matter of him finding his shooting touch.

Here we go again with these imaginary big shots Sam is supposed to hit and save us... Don't you see that's the biggest problem here?
All you guys holding onto 2004 and Sam still think he's a big time star and will explode for a huge game and carry us to a championship. When in fact, we're winning in spite of him, not because of him.
Sam would be good on a crappy team in need of a PG who can score, but on this team, all he's doing is killing the offensive flow and jacking up horrible shots. And not to mention, he plays D about as well as a broken chair.

Pretty much says it all. I wanted to believe it was a good move, but I have since realized I was wrong and when I see him in a game, I cringe on how many ill-advised, poor, too early in the shot clock shots he puts up.

Sam needs to be put out of OUR misery!! Doc apparently didn't stomp on his wrist hard enough after game 2.
I still cannot WAIT for the 2008-09 Denver Nuggets with a lineup that includes Carmelo Anthony, Allen Iverson, and Sam Cassell. That's a highly entertaining 50-loss trainwreck of a team right there. "Gee, we score a lot and play NO D...let's bring Cassell in!!"
