Kevin Garnett should NOT have the ball outside the 3pt line

Kevin Garnett should not be making entry passes. This is the one thing the celtics run that pisses me off more than any other. "Why the hell is Kevin Garnett making a ****ing entry pass" That to me shows a lack of WILLINGNESS to post.

I don't have a problem with KG popping off a pick and roll, or catching and shooting off of guard penetration. But why in the world is KG making an entry pass? He's not even at the high post looking to hit a cutter - he's at the 3 point line! He's not even a good 3 point shooter, so why is he standing somewhere outside his range where he can't even catch and shoot?

It can't be doc. All we're hearing is how he's pleading with the team to get KG the ball down low, and for the next five possession we don't even see garnett make an attempt to get position.

It's not Ray Allen, he's the one player on the team that looks to make the entry pass TO kg, or involve KG in a pick and roll consistently.

I think it might be rondo. Maybe KG feels that as long as rondo's on the floor, he needs to help give the team proper spacing so Pierce can work?

Either way, I think it's ultimately up to kevin garnett to man up. it's not that KG's playing soft like Pau Gasol - it's that he's playing like a 2nd option. It's okay to BE a second option, but not PLAY like one every possession. The whole "1st/2nd/3rd" option thing should ultimately imo come down to what the coach is calling, and it seems to me that the coach is calling for KG to be a 1st option and he's ignoring it. That's just frustrating. Gasol seems to understand this better than KG, actually. When Phil Jackson calls a play for Gasol, the play goes through Gasol, even with kobe on the floor.

Agreed. Let Perk (or Brown) do that if the offense calls for it.

I said this after our Game 2 win, so this isn't a reactionary post after a loss.

When KG was in Minnesota, Larry Bird used to dismiss the notion that he's a great player by saying that KG lacked that extra gear all great players have and therefore couldn't win. I'm starting to see what Larry was talking about. KG leaves me speechless every time he turns down a shot within 10 feet from the basket only to swing the ball out to anyone (mostly Rondo) behind the 3-pt line.

If KG is not going to dominate, then he shouldn't command the ball as much as he does especially in the 4th quarter because it creates the illusion that he's our Go-To guy. He's not. Instead, we need to concentrate on getting P and Ray going because they're not afraid to take the big shots.

I hear what you are sayiing but lets look at it like this. KG doesn't need to dominate the 4th that is Paul's job. Paul is the engine that makes the celtics offense roll. What KG has to do is create space for Paul and Ray, by taking it to the basket.

The best way for a 7' to take it to the basket is to post him. Therefore I agree that KG shouldn't touch the ball above the foul stripe in the 4th. Also KG has to be more assertive, just doesn't have to be the man.

The few times KG posted up or drove to the hoop, he ate Gasol like a bowl of corn flakes. Just **** do this EVERY GAME EVERY TIME and we will win by 20!!!!
