Is Tony Allen Done?

Is Tony Allen's career in Boston finsihed? Is he finished as a player?
The guy obviously wants to play. He is always standing on the bench, cheering his teammates on. I know he still has the heart and the passion to play. So why isn't Doc Playing him?
I would have liked to see TA play in game 3. No one was about to stay with Kobe. IMO, Posey is an overrated one on one defensive player and couldn;t do nothing against Kobe the cry baby. TA would also have been able to stay with Vujacic, who killed us with 20 points off the bench.
If TA is hurt, we shouldn't dress for the games. Come off season we need to get a back up SG and a Center.

I am afraid Tony's days in Boston are numbered.

Tony who? He definitely won't be with the team next season.

Crap,I think P2 is right. And I like Tony, despite his criminal tendencies and his near criminal tendency to go for upfakes.
He can get to the hoop.

As long as he isn't on the Celtics, I'm fine.

TA > Sam Cassell. Doc's Cassell love is so misguided. I hope TA comes back.

You would think our defensive guru, Mr. Thibodeau would want to see Tony for at least a few minutes. He's much better suited to defend Bryant than anyone else we have...Watching Rondo on Kobe was brutal.

TA can't stay healthy and makes boneheaded plays when he is healthy, he really got on a role when pierce was out last season and we had NO other options but other then that stretch he hasnt ever been consitintly good. I am just fine waiving farewell to tony Allen.

We'd be stupid not to keep him, as his value's at a low point. We'd be letting a good, or very conservatively a potentially good player get away without getting anything in return, when we could resign him for very cheap.

I agree with that. We should try to sign him to a 1 year contract and see if he can stay healthy. He should be cheap and at the worst a good 14-15 man on our team.

TA isn't done. He is not part of the rotation because of 3 reasons. First, he was inconsistent during the year and really struggled at the end of the year when Doc gave him excess minutes to see if TA deserved rotation minutes during the playoffs. Second, we have Pierce, Ray and Posey at the wing positions. Having 3 great options at the wing spot is enough during the playoffs. Lastly, and I think very important, is that with Rondo getting most of the minutes at pg, you can't have Rondo and TA on the court at the same time. We see how Rondo's defender helps off him and makes it a little harder for our half court offense. Imagine if you had 2 defenders doing that. The spacing with Rondo/TA in the backcourt would be horrible.
For next year though, I would want to keep TA for cheap money. He can impact the game both with his defense and penetration ability. I think that for next season, he will get back some of his explosiveness and confidence in his knee. What he needs to really work hard on during the off season is the corner 3 like Bruce Bowen did earlier in his career so that he is not liability in spacing the offense.

TA will be a wait and see signing depending on who and what happens this summer. 2 Draft picks, a couple of FA's, and possible trades. There just might not be any room for him on the roster - or - he is a good low cost/high reward signing. The question is - is he replaceable. That's an easy answer.

It looks like TA will get the start if Rondo can't go, so we'll see how he does. I hope Doc is man enough to give TA some good minutes while benching Cassell.

Is it too late to release Cassell and bring back Scabs? Danny should do that to save Doc from himself. It just SUCKS that Cassell is living with Garnett..

danny may feel he deserves one more chance given the injury he's coming back from but if I were in charge he would be gone. he's too stupid

Yeah, sometimes I wonder if Cassell is getting all this PT because he's living with KG and might poison KG by bitching. Cassell signing is the worst thing to happen to this team.

Cassell can be placed on the inactive list at any time and Scal can be activated. It's just not happening.

Watching what Trevor Ariza did in the first half is why a guy like TA can be so valuable to us. I highly dount he is gone. Unless its in a sign and trade
