Great links and excerpts Larry, thanks for posting! Are you going to do this after every game? (hint hint)
Numbers 1 and 5 were particularly interesting. Let's hope that KG puts his money where his mouth is and takes it to Gasol.

Jackson and Bryant now probably think they can win the next 3 as well, because the media just started licking their butts again. Really, Kobe looked so cocky towards the end and acted like he was Pierce's friend, however, that didn't came during the Lakers' two losses. Let's see what they look like when we get win #3 before they get it.

Just started licking their butts
again?
Seemed to me that the media basically spun game 2 as a Lakers win in all but the final score.[/u][/i]

After carrying the Boston offense for three quarters, Allen was shoved to the side in the fourth. He was shoved to the side at the oddest time, too, because as good as Bryant was in this game, Allen was keeping pace. Early in the fourth quarter he sank a 3-pointer that gave the Celtics a 65-63 lead, and pulled him virtually even with Bryant for game-high scoring honors. At that point, Bryant had 26 points. Allen had 25.
Bryant would score 10 more points to finish with 36. Allen wouldn't score again. The Lakers won 87-81.
Don't think those last two sentences aren't related. And don't think Allen is all that pleased about it.
Allen was as classy as he could be after the game, but even with his gentle voice and soft words he managed to make clear his thoughts on the fourth quarter.
"We settled for a lot of jump shots," he said, leaving unsaid who was doing the settling. So I'll say it. Kevin Garnett settled. Paul Pierce settled. Eddie House, for crying out loud, settled. And House shouldn't be settling anything, unless he's trying to settle this debate:
Should House shoot the ball as often as he did Tuesday night?
Completely agree, the fact that they went away from Ray in the 4th was the reason we lost this game

^Um isn't Ray Allen a jump shooter himself? I didn't see him going to the basket a lot.
I don't know why Ray sometimes gets all the way to the basket but doesn't try to draw contact and put up a layup, instead he pulls the ball back out, like he's Steve Nash.
He was our only offense last night and we should have looked to him in the 4th more, but that would have meant we were 'settling' for more jump shots. Same thing with Eddie House, he is a 5'10" jumpshooter. If he's wide open from 3, I want him to shoot it instead of trying to drive to the hoop.
I agree with the article that said it was a really bad game to watch, and probably one of the worst in finals history. Neither team looked good out there and the referees really made the game look sloppy with their inconsistency.

Ray Allen is one of the best shooters in NBA history and you're telling me that the Celtics shouldn't of gone to him in the 4th when he was 5/5 from 3 because it would be settling fro jump shots? We were settling for jump shots regardless and they were not being taken by the guy who had the hot hand.

No you have to read what the poster is responding too.
Writer says, Celtics loss because Pierce and Garnett settled for jumpshots. Then he goes to say, Ray should of got the ball... Ray would of just shot jumpshots [may have hit more of them]. Now that's ironic but the highlight is he goes on to say Eddie House settled for jumpshots. EDDIE HOUSE SHOULDN"T SETTLE for jumpshots..... UMN what? That's House's job.
The writer was acting like Eddie House is Tony Allen. It's ironic and shows a lack of knowledge on the writers part. Then, he goes on to question Houses shot selection

fantastic. In a game where you have Cassell playing the writer decides Eddie House shooting open threes is unacceptable for him and he should be driving to the hoop.
In the end, the writer identified the promblem as a cold and prescribed jumping into the artic ocean for an hour as the prescription.

Exactly. Eddie House is a 5'10" high percentage jump shooter, don't expect him to go in and dunk over Gasol. Ray Allen while an excellent jump shooter himself isn't going to solve the problem of the Celtics taking two many jumpers.

Pierce and Kobe play pickup games in the offseaon - Kobe has already alluded too. So they could actually be friendly. <g> Not that it matters you oftentimes REALLY want to beat your friend.
