Boston Interested In 2010 All-Star Game

The Celtics are reportedly close to applying for the right to host an NBA All-Star Game as early as 2010, according to The Boston Globe.

The team will make a decision on whether or not to officially apply for the right to host a game within the next week.

"They've expressed interest," said Ski Austin, executive vice president/events and attractions for NBA Entertainment. "[Celtics president] Rich Gotham has met with us a couple of times over the last few years. We have sent them the specs for a formal bid. I think they are doing their due diligence."

Boston doesn't appear to have any particular year in mind, but the league is currently looking at sites for 2010-12.

Nice!! Perfect way to show off how great the city of Boston is, especially to a few key All-Star players.

No coincidence that the Celts might find themselves under the cap by the end of the 2010 season too. :wink:
