The Donaghy Aftermath

I wouldn't consider myself a conspiracy theorist, but I wanted to hear what others thought about this angle:
What affect did the anti-small market biases have against KG's career in terms of Championships?
First year in a big time franchise/market and he's in the Finals. Granted it's a much better team than he's ever been on, but it's worth a thought.

Oh and I am sure people will immediately point to the Spurs
They seem to be the poster childs of international exposure. Stern wants to grow the league, why not have an international dynasty to stir up interest outside the States.

KG's only had two teams, this current one and the one he got to the WCF with, that were even good enough to make it. I think it's just a matter of a bad front office than the NBA rigging it

I believe Donaughys claim that the league tells refs to affect the outcome of games (so they can make more money, and grow the league)
I don't think it affected KG's career, though. This is the first championship quality team he has been on. And that is the MIN ownerships fault. I think they were content selling out the arena, and didn't want to spend the extra money to win a championship.

Regardless of Donaghy's credibility or professionalism, this should work very well for the series and the league. Last year, playoff officiating IMO was actually very solid for the most part. I have been convinced this was because David Stern knew about the Donaghy investigation and knew that officiating would eventually be under further scrutiny once the info re: Tim Donaghy was released to the public. With these new allegations currently causing some uproar the league once again will expect added scrutiny and should foster good officiating from here on out.

^^Me too, and usually I laugh at conspiracy theories, but there is too much proof and too big a body of evidence (last 20+ years) to think otherwise at this point...
