there has been a lot of talking and uncertainty through the city and the nation if ray allen can still get the job done and if the celtics should have gone after him in the first place. the answer to both is yes. first of all, the struggles. ray allen never game a real reason why he was doing so bad but in a recent article wriiten by scoop jackson, he says the reasons were for conflics with his stepfather.

ray allen is probably the most valuable player on the team. without him=no garnett. he is the hardest worker outta the whole team, a role model to the players (especially rondo) and is the most underrated player in the game as said by most NBA analysts. Allen has one of the best shots of all time (if not THE BEST) could be one of the top scorers ever at the end of the career and just might be considered as one of the top 50 players of all time at the end of his career. His humbleness and modesty are the reasons that he does not get as much star power as the other two players in the BIG Three get as well as the other big stars in the NBA. He comes up in the clutch and the celtics need him to win the championship. Support Ray Ray cuz he got game.

He's been getting the job done in the finals, maybe not the first two rounds, but in the finals he's been good

When he's on like he was last night, it's hard not to respect such an incredible clinic on the perfect J. I'm sure you saw "He Got Game" If not rent it. He was great in the post game interview as well. KG and Pierce don't say a whole lot, I think that's why they do them together all the time, but Ray was very comfortable talking the the press, and brought a lot of insight to the game.

Yeah, his OCD is probably why his jump shot is near perfect too.

He's been the MVP of the team so far in the Finals. If he keeps this up, he might win the Finals MVP and he would have deserved it. He's the only 1 of the big 3 to show up in all 3 games.

One of my favourite players of all time. His jumper, the whole motion and release, is just poetic; I feel like I could watch him shoot that long jumper all day long. Easily the most beautiful shot in the league.

I really wanted the Bucks to win that ECF and play the Lakers that year, so this year is also one of my dreams come true - to see my a couple of my favourite players (who don't play on the team I cheer for) play in the Finals against my favourite team.

yep, game 7 against the sixers. horrible game for the bucks. the moment i remember the best was when ray ray intentionally missed a free throw rebounded it and put it back in. i just remember the announcer saying, I THINK HE DID THAT INTENTIONALLY!

I hope Ray goes off for the remaining Finals games and then brings the Celtics a title -- this way we can trade him for maximum possible value this offseason and extend the window for Pierce/Garnett.

I agree, trading Ray should be our number 1 priority this off-season.

The bummer of that series was that Ray was so good, but nobody remembers it because the Bucks lost. He had 38 in game two and topped that with 41 in game 6. He had a personal 18-0 run in Game 6, when he scored 18 straight Bucks points without the Sixers scoring a single point during the stretch. It was one of the most remarkable stretches of playoff basketball I've seen - and its completely forgotten by NBA fans.

He was on his way to another 30+ effort in Game 7 when he banged knees with Eric Snow in the third and got injured (somehow getting a charge on the play - Snow stuck his leg out and undercut him). Milwaukee was down 10 or so when Allen got hurt, and it quickly fell apart without him. He gimped around in the fourth a little, but the Sixers were able to put the hammer down.

For most of the series, he also did an excellent job defending Iverson, who was at the height of his scoring prowess. Iverson shot maybe 35 percent in the series - but he went off in the fourth quarter of game six to cut a 30-point lead down to 10 (getting hot against Lindsey Hunter and continuing when Ray switched back on to him) and then had 40+ in game seven.

I'm not the biggest fan of Ray's overall game (especially in comparison to his contract), but, I don't see trading him as a viable option in this offseason. The team needs HIS scoring accumen and would be wise to find another scorer off the bench in the offseason.

the game tonight was great. ray had the biggest rebound and shot and was consistent the whole game.

u guys r idiots for thinkin the cletics should trade him. he is one of the biggest reasons the celtics even have a shot at the title this year

When Ray Allen is pulling down 8-9 rebounds a game like he has been doing vs. LA, he goes from deadly sniper to all around stud. The lack of a Lakers transition D has also sprung him loose. Give a shooter an opening and he'll kill you. Still can't believe they haven't tried to continually trap him like Cleveland did so well.

Trading Ray wouldn't be an answer. We could never get value for him equal to his value for our team. There just isn't a huge market for 32-year-old SG, no team will give up youth for him.

Better we keep him to make a run next year. After that, if we fall short, we can think about trading him as an expiring. But that's awhile away.

Walter Ray is on our roster next year. I cant wait to see what Danny does with the draft.

that would just suck if ray had a good game 5 and got snubbed outta both the mvp for the allstar game and for the finals
