Doc has outcoached Phil

Doc has been the better coach through four games.

He's had more injuries to deal with. He's made better adjustments. His timeouts have been just as good as Jackson.

He kept the Celtics in the game when Pierce looked like he was out forever in game 1. He's had sub after sub come through after their number was called: PJ, Powe, Posey, and House.

Jackson countered the Celtics offense by putting Kobe on an injured Rondo so Bryant could roam on defense. Doc responded by going with five shooters, completely stymieing LA.

He oversaw the greatest comeback in finals history by going with the reviled small ball.

He's watched his team take punch after punch and kept his own focus, helping the team regain theirs.

Before the season, during the season, through the playoffs, and today: Doc is a really good coach.

Now, maybe, he's one of the best in the league.

(Things look good, but it's not over yet. ONE MORE WIN.)

Yes indeedy, he has outcoached the Zen Master.

Phil doesn't coach anyway. He just let's it all be, and things work out in the end, as long as you have somebody named Shaq or Michael on your team. With no Shaqs or Michaels, well, you find yourself down 3-1 sometimes.

Well we know Philly boy was given atleast one title (2002), he will go down in my book as the most overrated coach of all time. Cockiest too.

They actually have similar strengths:

A. Psychology (with a bias to calm)
B. Willingness to give the keys to a great Xs and Os assistant coach.

Jackson tolerates more obnoxious, childish behavior by his stars than Doc ever has, but that may also be a function of the stars he's had to work with.

As a Laker fan I agree 100% Phil Jackson for being all the great blah blah let his team lose a 24 point lead. I see Doc Rivers (even though I dont think he is a good coach) has out coached Phil. You guys beat us you deserve to be Champions. Now time for us to get rid of our scrubs and get some vets.

Considering Tony Allen's achilles injury, when Doc subbed him in my brother and I turned to eachother and said "Tony Allen, that's it, this game is ours."

I won't say Doc is a better coach or that he has outcoached Phil, but that substitution however insignificant last night for some strange reason was brilliant. I can't even explain why. The Perkins injury was a blessing in disguise as well. Our team played so well last in the second half, it was awesome. Doc did impress me last night. Well done coach. Our team won that game and it started with our defense which we played none of in the first half. House and Posey I love you guys. Ray Allen 48 minutes, Pierce picked up his carreer and his game to the next level last night after a horrible first half defensively and even though Garnett was not huge last night together we looked possessed in that second half.

ONE MORE it's not over yet.

who would have thought 12 months ago that this conversation could even take place?
