Watch the slo-mo replay. When Eddie hits the 3 to make it a 3 point game, the lakers inbound to Kobe and its fumbled. When Kobe falls down, his hand touches baseline and the REFEREE COMPLETELY IGNORES IT. Let the conspiracies begin. This is at the 9.0 sec mark of the 4th. Tell me if I am wrong, if I am right, or you are undecided by the angle. Oh no!! The League is knocking down my door....wait err, who are you,,,, HELP ME, I hope this post gets out....STTTTTTTTTEEERRRRNNN

And Kobe reached in and fouled Pierce from the back when he "stripped" him of the ball late in the game. And at least two of Pierce and Garnett's fouls were phantom calls. And Pierce got whacked every time he drove the ball to the paint. And Ray Allen got mauled on a drive but no call was made. But you know what? This is the NBA. And people think Stern is the greatest commissioner ever because others keep saying that he is, so it must be true.

I agree Pierce should have shot WAY more FTs. He had an and 1 almost every drive, and there was one play that stood out in the beginning of the game. Pierce drove in and got MAULED, which led to Fish in transition. He tried to create contact with KG and KG moved back, leaving Fish flying out of bounds. They showed the replay and KG didn't even graze him. Ah well! Winning it at home will be all the sweeter.

This shouldn't discourage Pierce and the others to keep driving to the basket. If we'd simply do that and look to do that on every play, I seriously doubt the Lakers would stop it consistently. Pierce could pretty much do whatever he wants on the floor, and whenever Garnett looks to do it, he's successful too. Same with Ray, but these other players doing that would just open him up for jumpers....
Let's hope they are ALL aggressive going to the basket for game 6 and/or 7.

I replayed the big steal frame by frame, Kobe never touches the ball

it took me 3 times to realize kobe never touched the ball, we cant reasonably expect an official to make that call in realtime
and i thought when it happened that kobe s right hand was out of bounds, but they never showed a real distinct replay

Whatever. If the only thing preventing another 4th quarter meltdown by the Lakers is some really shoddy officiating, then I feel GREAT about our chances. Did we squander plenty of our own in that game? Absolutely. But the Lakers looked absolutely pathetic the entire 2nd half. The way they are unable to defend a simple pick and roll makes me feel incredibly confident going into Tuesday's game. Paul Pierce will live at the FT line.

IT's a really hard to call make in real time sir. It sucks they missed it, but what can you do? It looked clean to me, and you can definitely see how the refs would "blow" it.

I know I am a super-homer when it comes to the Boston teams, but I noticed the same things...Kobe was out of bounds after House's 3, and his "steal" was a foul, didn't even TOUCH the ball...even Boston-hater Wilbon said as much after the game.
Still, it took some blown calls and the game of a lifetime for the Lakers to BARELY beat the C's at home...we will close this **** out in 6, mark my words...

Six games, the NBA will turn a profit, so the next out-of-bounds on Kobe will be called.

IT ABSOLUTELY DID!!! I have DVR and I put it to slo-mo, go about three inches away from my TV, and paused at the perfect moment that you can clearly tell his hand was on the baseline with the ball in his possession.
But, yeah water under the bridge, we're still in control boys.

God damn. Stop whining.
Maybe Kobe was out of bounds, but it wasn't our game to win. Game 6 will be, so don't worry. Besides, I didn't like the green and white combination of uniforms out there. I rather see the lasting memory of championship clinching moments on parquet floor with our home white celebrating in the face of their away purple.

Not a huge deal to me, but Kobe really never touched the ball.

C'mon man, you've been cool as far as Laker fans go on this board, but Kobe hacks at Pierce's side/elbow, causing the ball to spit out. Easy foul...I spotted it instantly WHEN IT HAPPENED before the replay...replay only confirmed it for me. Same with Kobe being out of bounds. But I'm not a ref so what can I do?

Eh, it looked like a steal to me, although the replay showed that it could have been a foul. But at that point, you gotta take care of the ball better. Yes, Kobe got away with one, but you can't rely on that **** to win a championship because refs are not going to make those borderline calls for a road team. We'll seal it at home tomorrow. No need to get all worked up.

Ahh I know. I'm fired up for tomorrow night. As I said, that was the best the Lakers had and we still almost won. If KG hits those FTs who knows what transpires after??
C's in 6!!!
