Perkins May be Done for the Series

Post#1 » by return2glory » Mon Jun 16, 2008 8:37 am

http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/bask ... position=5

Perkins may be done for the series. This is bad news for us because his toughness is really needed for our team. See game 5 as Gasol and Odem had a field day without Perkins in there. Also we have no replacement for Perkins as evident in game 5 as well. PJ Brown is too old and isn't as good when he plays more than 15 minutes a game. Powe and Big Baby don't have the height to contain the taller Gasol and Odem.

Ray Allen is also dealing with a health issue in regards to one of his children (see bottom of Perkins' article).

I don't want to get all religous here, but we need to player for Perkins and Ray's child.

This brings me to another point. Please at least get rid of the Beat LA sigs. I've been telling people that all that those is bring bad luck, but people don't want to buy that.

Here's evidence that the Beat LA chants, shirts and sigs are bad luck. Since the start of the Finals:

1. Pierce has gotten hurt and may require surgery.
2. Rondo, who heavily relies on his speed and quickness has hurt his ankle. There goes his speed and quickness.
3. Perkins now may be out for the Finals after hurting is shoulder. It's the same one he has had surgery on.
4. Now Ray is dealing with a health issue involving his child.

I know some people are going to say that injuries are part of the game, which they are. But not one Laker player has gotten hurt since this series started.

I might be taking this superstition thing too far, but superstition sometimes plays a big part in sports. All I'm asking is to atleast get rid of the sigs. And if you are not superstitious than you wouldn't mind getting rid of it. What purpose is it surving anyway? I for one know you guys are big time Celtic fans like myself and with or without the Beat LA sigs, you'll still be a great fan.

Come on guys. Don't wait until another one of our guys gets hurt.

If you think some chant had ANYTHING to do with injuries, you are completely insane. How about having to play over 100 games this year so far? That might have something to do with it. Please explain how injuries and 'Beat LA' are correlated.

If we see Perk again, I'll be very surprised. When the injury happened, I knew right away.. and so did almost everyone else. It was that same shoulder - and that injury does not heal quickly.

If he does *try* and play, he won't be 100% - no way, and it really increases the chances of his hurting the shoulder even further. I don't think Glenn will play him, even if Perk says he is ready.

Is this another highly negative thread? I don't think I'm going to read it then.

That sucks. I really wish both teams could have been firing with all possible players healthy.

R2G

Stop bringing this crap around here maybe you are causing the injuries with all of this negative bull, how about that.

We won game 4 not only that but in historic fashion, you welched on your bet and now we lose game 5. On top of that every other time one of our players were injured they came back able to play the next game, until you welched on your sig bet.

You pay you debt and put up that BEAT LA sig.

You forgot to mention:
5. The Celtics are up 3-2 in the series, having shown that they are clearly the better team, and with the two remaining games at home where they are almost unbeatable.
