The playoffs has me mentally exhausted...

Post#1 » by GonzoLays » Mon Jun 16, 2008 9:47 pm

... and I'm not even freaking playing! What in the hell is wrong with me. If I'm mentally exhausted, I can only imagine what the players are feelings. All these high emotional ups and downs has worn me out.

My energy level watching the games is waaay down. Before I was screaming at every foul against the C's, yelling at Rondo to shoot...now, I just sort of sit there with anxiety in the pit of my stomach. Like they better not lose or I'm not going to handle this well.

Now the fact that Perk might not play and the plane is still stuck in the LA has really ruined my day. Stooooopid.

I'm soooo ready for the playoffs to be over. I can't take it. We better win.The playoffs are a bitch.

I feel the same way. I am a teacher, so I get up everyday at 5am and go deal with teenagers and I am just cooked. I'm lucky right now it is finals and I just have to watch the kids sweat, but man, I am spent. I just need them to finish it tomorrow night, so I can celebrate and get back to a normal sleep pattern.

Lol I think we all are, Ive gone to all the playoff games which makes for some late nights when I have to wake up at 6:30 every morning, I am mentally and physically exhausted and pissed after a loss. I cant imagine what the players are going through right now but in the end if we win one of the next two it will all be worth it!

Well, the playoffs started in mid April....of course we're all mentally exhausted-cause we're used to NO playoffs...I'm so sick of hearing the name "Kobe Bryant"---I wanna puke-if I had the energy to puke...But, I was sick of hearing "Richard Hamilton" in the Detroit series as well....God, they need to put us all out of our misery tomorrow night----I really don't know if I can take the Drama of a Game 7.

I to am an early riser and the late start and finish to these games is killing me. I'm drained and sick, smoking to much, drinking to much, my eyes are permanently red. My wife no longer asks me how the game went last night and finds something important to do for the kids if I bring it up. I have no idea what is going on at work any more, several of my department seem to be missing and I'm not sure where they went.

It feels like we've done this every other night for months on end. but then again our "thrown together All Stars" is about to play their 26th playoff game together. If we go to a game 7 I fear for my health. I guess they got experience now.

hahahah i couldnt agree more with everything being said on this board. (and cleticsblog too, there is a post over there abbout these mentally exhausting days.) I am soo grouchy at work, i am tired, my lady doesn't talk to me in the morning if we lose, this has got to stop!! the only good thing is I just got the biggest chuckle out of these comments and it was a much needed laugh....
Having said that if we dont win tommorow night,I am not sure what I will do! I cant take this much longer, my body can't, my head can't and I am fairly sure my friends and family can't either! :( :x

I really thought this was over last night. The Lakers quit except that **** Kobe we just fumbled it away. Now I fully expect to lay a ATL game 7 beat down on them tomorrow but I am so worried that our team physically feels like us mentally.

The one positive thing is that this city has not had a championship won on its home court since June 8th 1986 and that is a long time to wait for that kind of party. That gym should be off the hook.

Ha, I have been thinking the same things and I've felt bad about it. My team is back in the finals after such a long time, but I just keep thinking that I can't wait for it to be over and I'm glad no that it ends this week. I'm ready for us to go ahead and take it tonight. I'm tired of being stressed out on game night, staying up late after the games, all of the ups and downs, and the changes to the site aren't helping! END THIS TONIGHT! I want to see some lit cigars tonight and champagne popping.

Wow guys, not me. I get up at 6:30am every morning for work, have two little kids waking me up, and I'm still up all night watching the games, yelling at the TV, getting into it. I'm exhausted but loving it. Just like the players say they have the whole offseason to rest, I have the whole summer after the Finals are done to rest (and catch up with the Red Sox, who I've been ignoring since April!)
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I so want this win tonight. Can't imagine the type of anxiety that will come from a tight game seven with KG at the free throw line. I was basically watching the game 4 blowout while being brain dead on the couch, then started jumping around during the 4th quarter. This team is making us bi-polar. Antidote: a nice game 6 victory, going away.

So true! I'm dying here from the lack of sleep and I'm on the west coast.

The echo the sentiment in this thread. I've had to use all my sick days the day after a loss because I can't bring myself to go into the office. I haven't worked a full week in over a month which is good and bad. I'm drinking and smoking way too much. I'm actually kind of happy I don't have tickets to Game 6 tonight so I can just enjoy and celebrate with my girl. However, I do have tickets to Game 7 so if they lose tonight, I'm gonna go completely nuts. I'm not sure if my heart can take the anxiety of a Game 7 for the NBA Finals.

I'm just glad I'm not old with heart problems or I'd be dead from watching these playoffs.

Listen here Chief--you are one of the best posters here and on CelticsBlog....you better call in sick tonight---I can't imagine a true C's fan like yourself missing a Game that we've all been waiting 22 years to see.!!

^^No kidding. This is like the Red Sox World Series run in 2004...I didn't miss a SECOND of it because you can always catch up on sleep, but you can never see the games again. Same with the WS in 2007 and all of the Pats Super Bowls.

Tonight is no different!!!

GO CELTICS!!!!

I feel for you Chief. I have to say, having lived in Boston for the past 4 years, I sometimes take for granted how awesome it is to be in the Hub around other rabid Celtics fans 24/7.

To me having the C's win the title will be more sweeter than when the Pats and Sox won. I love the 3 teams pretty evenly but the C's have a slight edge.

BEAT LA
