Do you think what Paul Pierce did to Doc Rivers will start a tradition in B-ball.
Or will it be an isolated act, it was kinda dumb doing it on the hardwood.

yeah i wouldn't be surprised if it's not allowed anymore

but PP is the man for being the first to do it in basketball

You'd also need to be blowing out your opponent to such a degree in the deciding game that the last quarter is irrelevant. Despite the Lakers laying down for the Celtics, that doesn't happen too often.

But L.A.'s complete lack of desire allowed the Celtics enough time to do something like this on the court and safely say it had no impact on the outcome.

I'm guessing there's too much slip-and-fall potential -- for both teams -- and the league will send a memo around clearly pointing this out.

Yeah I agree it was a kooky thing for a basketball game... original in it's own right and memorable for the series, but it's going to be banned for the obvious reasons stated above.

Well, Pierce just made a lot of money for the Shamrock Foundation (I think that is the right charity). WEEI is auctioning off Doc's stained shirt and the Gatorade bucket, both signed by Doc and Paul.

Edit: The bids are up to $8,500.00.

Honestly as much as I love Pierce and the C's, I thought it was dumb. Could have been dangerous to anyone walking around, and it always looked stupid on the football field...it's about as cliche as you can get.

I loved it- very cool- never saw it so it was not old to see- probably should not be allowed as stated slippery/dangerous unless your up by 25 in finals last game etc etc- always be a memory I will CHEERISH.

As long as it is in that situation I don't think anyone will have a problem with it. I am sure the league doesn't want it happening all the time, just like they don't want to see guys with cigars dangling out of their mouth'after they had a 4-1 road trip but there is a time and a place.

It also doesn't hurt that Gatorade is a massive league sponsor.
