PJ Brown likely gone

Post#1 » by Gant » Thu Jun 26, 2008 2:41 am

Marc Spears just said on CSNE that according to Danny Ainge, PJ Brown will not be back.

The Celtics need another tall guy.

We wouldnt of won it all without him.

Thank you PJ and i was glad to see him go out with a ring, not as a benchwarmer but a legit rotation player.

Mid-February 2009, some of the Celtics players will reportedly give PJ Brown a call and start the recruiting. Brown will later say that "it wasn't easy for him to make a decision about another comeback, but in the end the smell of championship rings prevailed".

Does anyone think that Danny finally gets his hands on his love child Robert Swift?

It's gotta be a great time right now for PJ, to go out on top... he's played a lot of years, but the highlight of his career came in one of his last games with the Dunk on Kobe...

I don't see why he'd want to play another year, unless he wants the money. He could easily just put a suit on and work with the team in a training/assistant capacity; if not with the Celtics, another team for sure.

So PJ walks down the street as a good retired player. Paul pierce sticks his head out the car and sais, "Hey PJ, you want to add champ to your resume" PJ, thinks, shrugs his shoulders and sais alright. Has an amazing game 7 against Cleveland. Did well all season with us. And finally gets his ring.

What an awesome story. PJ can tell that one to his grandkids. Just like how scal will tell them he was the mvp.

Seriously though, a very good career. And the best way to end it with an NBA ring. We can call you champ now PJ!!! Have a nice retirement, and if you are ever short on cash, I would love to see his mind in the celtics organization as a coach.

So who can we get for the minimum to replace him?

Enough with the Robert Swift talk. That ship sailed a long time ago.

Definitely sick of Swift. He sucks, he's nothing, never will be.

We definitely would not have won without PJ but I dont think we "need" another big.

I wouldn't mind a flier on Swift...still young and I still maintain that if you look that goofy and are able to gain serious attention as a NBA lottery pick straight out of high school, there just has to be a certain amount of talent there.

PJ is the man. He hit arguably the biggest shot of the season for us.

What's with all the Swift hate? If Danny were to sign him, you wouldn't be happy with his player evaluation talents?

At the price they got PJ Brown, I think they will have a very hard time replacing him. I thought PJ providing some great defense for the team.

Does PJ Brown really have to go? Just look at Wakefield and Johnson pitching against each other last night. Johnson is five years older than PJ.

I wanted PJ to stay even more than Posey, but I don't blame him (I'm guessing it's his choice). At his age, if you can go out a champ, go out a champ. I'd love to see him stay on as an assistant or something, he's a great infuence on younger players, just ask Chris Paul and David West. Thanks PJ, not only did you get your ring, but you sure as Hell earned it in the playoffs.

PJ was unbelievable in the playoffs! Maybe in February, March he will change his mind...

I think people are underestimating his impact in the playoffs. It will be tough to find a player with his BBIQ for the veterans minimum....

Thank you PJ!!!

Too bad...unlike Cassell, PJ actually contributed and was valuble.

And I agree, enough of the Swift **** talk. The guy sucks and is always hurt. Why does everyone on here have a crush on him?????
