Im still in shock JGordon wasnt drafted
he can even play some 1 in spurts----very heady player with plenty of natural ability---and he works hard to improve his game

Everyone else on my board was drafted; but i was focusing on atheletic, defensive minded wings that can create some offense or facilitate----i would have loved to pick up hibbert or lopez @ 30 as im sure danny would as well

Did Shawn James from Duquesne/Northeasern get drafted?? Too bad we dont have a summer league team this year. Not expecting us to sign an UDFA though.

He doesn't seem to be on anybody's radar and maybe there's a reason for that, but watching the NCAA tournament I thought Jason Richards (Stephen Curry's backcourt mate @ Davidson) seemed John Stockton-ish

I mean, I highly doubt he's the next John Stockton, or even anything extremely close, but maybe he's worth a look?

I think I've seen that too.

Who would we send? Powe is probably past benefitting. Davis may be too. That leaves Pruitt, Giddens, Erden if he's available (but maybe that would conflict with his Olympic team), maybe Davis, and maybe Powe. And no way to use it to recruit UDFAs, since it's obvious we don't have jobs available for them.

It's a matter of practicality and money. They're only adding one new healthy young player and they didn't figure fielding a team would help a lot, unlike previous years when they played a slew of young guys who would be on the roster.

(Yes they could play Baby and Pruitt but still didn't feel there was much to be gained.)

Also it costs a huge amount of money to send a summer league team- money they felt could be best used elsewhere.

The team is having it's own rookie/free agent camp, which I think starts July 1 or so.

Like everywhere there are a few big name college players that didn't get drafted, a few players that should have stayed in school who didnt get drafted and just a glut of players who may have "potential".

Davon Jefferson, Jamont Gordon and Pat Calathes really stand out to me.

Forbes does as well, but that's obvious to most people in this area.

We'll see if they land anywhere, more likely than not the NBDL.

I just read that the Celts invited Brian Butch to there rookie free agent camp. I remember butch being one of the top recruits in the nation at one time. He plays like matt bonner. If we got a rookie free agent on our team who plays like bonner that pretty good doubt he makes it though.

Two NBA teams will take a closer look at Brian Butch in the next few weeks.

The former Wisconsin forward will be in Boston next week to participate in the Celtics minicamp. Next month, he'll be at Atlanta's minicamp and then play with the Hawks in the Utah summer league.

While I'm not familiar with these guys' games on a first hand level...going by nbadraft.net profiles...

I like Davon Jefferson. Sounds like he has the tools to be a future star, and his weaknesses sound like the type of weaknesses many younger players have. Of course he's 21 and not 19/20, but he still sounds to me like someone who should have been drafted, possibly in the first round

Jamont Gordon...sounds good but the notes about inconsistency, bad court vision, and questionable decision making kinda turn me away considering he's already an undersized SG who lacked enough inherent talent to go undrafted. Maybe a future NBA player, but not enough upside in the short or long term to bother with, IMO

Pat Calathes...sounds way too soft and not coordinated enough for someone almost 23. His height - an asset for him in the NCAA - no longer an asset in the NBA

Gary Forbes...stats don't mean much coming from UMass, if its true he lacks lateral quickness, that'll make it hard for him tom become even a decent defender at the NBA level, and even if he has solid ballhandling/scoring skills, if he can't be a solid enough defender, and if his 3 pt shot isn't developed further, he doesn;t even make a worthy role player at the NBA level. 23 yrs old since February so he's already past the age where most players show good improvement

Now, Richard Roby is a guy that Pogue Mahone had pegged as underrated....reading up on him he definitely sounds to me like a guy who we should be inviting to camp....worth noting he played in the Princeton O in Colorado. Easlier in his college career, he posted very solid 3 pt shooting #s despite having a very slender frame, and an older NBADraft.net profile points out one reason why a seeming decline in 3 pt shooting % should not raise eyebrows....if his shooting ability was that much better than those around him it would have been easy for him to become complacent in that area while trying to improve his game in other areas.
