Snyder? Why the hell would we want him. If we are looking at Kirk Snyder, we better be making a move to resign Tony Allen. That dude is horrible. Snyder is a huge downgrade from anyone we had on last year's roster and that includes Pruitt. He was traded by the Rockets for Gerald Green, and then they decided to cut Green days later. That's how much this guy matters to teams in the NBA.
As for Miles doctors have said that he is unable to play professionally, and he has an outstanding 10 game suspension. He has a knee injury, just like Tony, except for in the case of Miles, he'll likely never recover from it. Do we really want to fill up a roster spot with a guy who'll just be on the injury list all year? To top it all off, he has more character issues than any guy in the league. If you thought Telfair was bad, wait until you get a load of Miles. This is the guy who told his coach, "I do not care if the team loses the next 20 games." Real team player that guy, I'm sure he bleeds UBUNTU.
I'm also not very keen on "The Birdman". Why wouldn't the Hornets sign him if he was actually a capable player. It makes no sense to me that he's here. His stats when he was still in the league weren't that great to begin with. It's not like we're getting an all-star who was suspended, he's the guy who took 50 attempts to throw down a single dunk.
Morris, O'Bryant, and Harrison would probably give us very little if anything and all have issues. Here's what I've found out about the guys through Wikipedia.
Here's what Don Nelson said about O'Bryant last year after they brought him back from the D-league. "I told him if he goes down to the D-League and isn't a dominant player, there should be red flags all over the place, and he should be the first to notice. He's not only not dominating, he's not playing very well. He's a long-term project. I really liked him the first week of training camp, but I assumed there would be great progress. ... He hasn't gotten better one bit." I don't think I need to add much more than that.
On to Mr. Harrison. Let's see, involved in the infamous Palace brawl (hit a fan), suspended for going into the Spurs locker room looking for a fight, suspended five games for violating the leagues anti drug policy. Made headlines for saying that he didn't think the NBA or the team had the right to look into his personal life, aside from testing for Performance Enhancing Drugs. Woohoo, sounds like another good teammate.
Randolph is the one guy who might have slight chance at the 3rd string center position. He kinda found his way into the NBA in a roundabout way since he was an undrafted FA. He seems a little bit more intelligent than the other guys, but he's not exactly a tremendous player.
The other guy, Basden is a utility player, who would be used purely for defense. Defensively he's not as good as TA, IMO, and doesn't have the upside that Tony does, or the ability to draw fouls and drive to the hoop.
In the end what I'd say is that NONE of these guys are better than who we had last year, if we sign even one of them, it's going to be a downgrade. We'd be much better off sticking with guys like House and Tony, than trying to bring in other teams' castaway garbage. For the center position, we're not going to find a diamond in the rough, there aren't many decent centers in the NBA, who will play for the minimum. If we want a good guy, we'll have to dip into the pot for him. We'd be better looking at guys who have accomplished something in their career, instead of busts like Harrison and O'Bryant. We need guys who are ready to go out of the gates and understand the NBA game. This may mean going after some retired players, like we did with Posey last year.
