What is Baron Davis going to do now? Do you think he still signs with the Clippers?

Does he still have the option to leave? I guess technically he does if he hasn't actually signed anything yet. He must be pissed. I'd hate to be a Clippers fan right now, this is like the Boozer stab in the back.

I also think it means Maggette will end up back with the Clips for more than the MLE.......

Wow, Brand must really dislike Los Angeles/the Clips. He's leaving behind Baron Davis, Mobley, Thornton and Kaman to play with Andre Miller, Iguodala and Dalembert. No offense to the Sixers, who should be a playoff team- but conventional wisdom would say that the Clippers had the more attractive team to put around Brand.

Looks like the Clippers go back to being the Clippers.

Josh Smith is out there and GSW have the money to overpay him to play in the system made for his abilities.

ORL is off the board for Magette's services as is now PHIL.

PHIL is going to be very good, no perimeter attack but very good. Thinking on par with CLE,ORL 50 win teams.

LAC might try and go after Okafor to replace the interior toughness and also because I think GS will throw lots of money at Josh Smith.

That leaves SA's mid-level option for Magette wich he should accept.

And us as the only contenders left for Posey to play at for the 20% raise or a 2 year MLE deal :o)

At least that's how I break down my thoughts upon hearing this.

It isn't offical yet, LA times seems to be the only ones reporting it but it does make a whole lot of sense that PHIL wouldn't trade for capspace unless they already came to terms with an agreement.

Oh ****... I forgot PHIL still has their MLE right?

And there core could easiely give someone 4/5 years full MLE and they desperately need a perimeter attack. Imagine if PHIL got Posey.

Miller
Iggy
Posey
Brand
Dalembert

Okay maybe we still have some competition for Posey's services

They like Thaddeus Young as their SF. And ESPN is pretty much reporting this as a done deal now too. Clippers owner likes Maggette, I think they'll now offer him good money to come back, this is just the break Corey's been waiting for, to get more than the MLE. Baron should go back to Golden St now, that would be a riot. Poor Clippers fans.

So much for that, Maggette goes to Golden St. And so much for him settling for the MLE.....5yrs/50mil.

Isn't he from LA though? My impression was that while he certainly wanted to play with Brand, this was also about him going back home.

As for the Clippers, this kinda sucks, but isn't the end of the world. They could still take a shot at Smith, or if they don't like him they can always wait until next year to get their other star in free agency. They do play in a big market, so it shouldn't be a problem to get guys to want to play there if they have a solid year.

Philly possibly has close to 25 mil cap room depending on where the cap is at....I didn't realize that til checking earlier today. They have to resign Louis Williams and match offers for Iggy, but I believe they can do that stuff even if they are over the cap. So for the time being, hypothetically they could give Brand a salary starting around 15 mil, someone like Josh Smith a salary starting around 10 mil or so (ATL would match tho), and still have the MLE

Makes the Eastern Conference more interesting.

Baron is what the clippers need more than Brand. Kaman is extremely productive in the paint. Mobley and Magette complement each other well on the wings. What the Clippers need is a go to star scorer like Baron and a point gaurd.... and they get both of those things with one payer.

The stuff's going down fast and furious now. I just hope we resign Posey. The rest of the pieces are easier to fill in.

The Atlantic Division just became one of the elite divisions in the NBA after being nothing but a laughing stock two years ago. If the Celtics, 76ers and Raptors are all healthy we should be looking at a 50 win team finishing third in our division next year.
