Chris Mihm? Kwame Brown?

Post#1 » by P2 » Wed Jul 9, 2008 10:14 am

I know we are interested in Birdman and Harrison. But how about Mihm and Kwame? I think they'd make a decent backup C.

I say forget Mihm. Brown at least has a lot of talent to go with his size. Maybe KG, Clifford Ray and playing for a "players coach" could bring some of it out.

I would be pretty happy to give that kid a shot.

Ugh...do we really need crappy players like this? Mihm is basically done and Kwame has worse hands than "a certain center who we signed for the MLE and is a cancer"...

Kwames hands are worse than Mark smnoke a Blounts. The thing I like about Kwame is his shot blocking, and rebounding in limited minutes.

we don't have to ask kwame to score. i think we can get him cheap and he'll realize his chance to redeem himself by winning a title and being under kg's guidance. i think he's mature enough now.

I don't understand this board's collective belief that Garnett's work ethic and intensity will make him a positive influence on any underachieving bust (O'Bryant, Kwame, Miles). How often do things like that happen?

I actually really like the idea of Chris Mihm, health issues aside he is 7' tall, 6 hard fouls, a beast on the offensive glass and has some offensive skills. Not a tremendous defensive presence but we could and have done a lot worse backing up the 5 spot.

Brown isn't brutal when you compare the options but he isn't as good offensively as Mihm who actually has a great pair of hands for big man. His biggest issue is staying on the floor either from keeping those hands off the other team or from injury.

What is Mihm's story? Seemed like he was at least putting up passable #'s for his minutes for the Lakers for awhile. Injury? Terminal slowness? Big 7-footer still in his 20's. Any insight appreciated.

He was out with ankle injury but he is a starting caliber center, he would be an offensive Ying to Perk's defensive Yang.

There are absolutely NO laykers from the 07/08 team that I'd want on this team. Actually the only player I'd want is Bynum (hell no to Kancer and Gasoft) but once Bynum gets paid, he'll under achieve for the remainder of his contract-book it. I was extremely happy when we traded Chris Mihm to Lost Angel-less, whom I despised, and Kwame DOES have worse hands than Big Blunt.

Does Kwame need to have good hands? Aren't we just looking for a big to dispel perk for 20 mins and keep KG from playing center?

Thanks, Sully. But doesn't he have another year with the Lakers?

Yes apparently he does. He had a player option and it appears he opted in.

Mihm can score around the basket and is a passable rebounder, but as he showed in the about 3 minutes he played during the Finals, he is a fouling MACHINE. He just doesn't have the quickness or discpline to defend with any success. Plus he seems to get lost on rotations.

Kwame? No thanks. Recycled crap is still crap.

Too bad. Even coming off of injury I think the market would have been brisk for him.

Then Kwame is fertilizer already- his 'fertile' expiring contract was used to LA's advantage to get Gasol.

They certainly are crap if you're expecting them to be a key part of the rotation, but as emergency players at the end of the bench I'd be happy with either if they were uber cheap.
