Semi-OT: Why not just buy the bruins?

Ugh, the kings. LA for that matter too!!

Wyc and co. are apparently interested in hockey. Thought I would post this here. Interesting stuff.

They'd make a TON of money if they bought the Bruins, not necessarily off of hockey but they'd own everything else and wouldn't be mere tenants in the Bruins' house (which is ironic given the storied history contrast between the two teams...)
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

One would think that it makes more sense to purchase the Bruins but who knows ?? Maybe they are thinking of which franchise has the biggest upside and long-term potential in terms of media markets... There is no doubt that most if not all diehard Bruins fans would prefer it if Jacobs finally sold the team because the team has not won anything since 1972...As the ownership groups of the Pats, Bosox and Celts have demonstrated it is that they are superb at thinking outside the box and hiring competent people to run things... The Bruins have been a mess and even with Chia and Julian running the show, the Bruins need a new ownership group that has a similar strategy and mindset to other Boston teams... I am not sure this will happen because, based on numerous reports, Jacobs is all about making money and the Bruins generate huge revenue for him which I would guess he is in no rush to give up...Still one can dream that one day a new ownership group will run the Bruins and restore some of the pride and tradition that has been lost over the years...A good move would be to hire Orr in some capacity just to show the fans that they respect our history and getting Orr involved in some way would be a good sign to get the fanbase on their side...
