About the new Champion Celtics DVD

Post#1 » by campybatman » Sun Jul 13, 2008 10:27 pm

Anyone know whether or not the disc(s) will include complete playoff games or simply it'll be nothing more than game highlights and pre and post interviews and scenes from the parade?

I didnt think this was out until Tuesday but earlier i went into Blockbuster and saw it there so i bough it. It is highlights of the season and does not have the complete games but it does havethe whole 4th quarter of Game 7 against the Cavs and game 6 against the Pistons. It also has "I am Celtic" in the bonus features.

i was hoping for a few full games from a few playoff games but i guess not.

i bought sports illustrated so i could get the champ pack (dvd, shirt & commemorative book thingy).

i had sports illustrated a year ago, but cancelled it so i could get the celtics champ pack if they won lol.

how is the dvd overall would you say? on a scale of 1 to 10, what would you give it?

also, did anyone else buy the SI celtics champ pack thing? if so, let me know when you get your stuff in.

Its a easy 10 lol, im biased about it for obvious reasons but i love it. Anything that lets me see stuff from this season again is as good as it gets.

Yeah and you can buy the Sox one with every full game just as it was broadcasted but without the commericals. I'll still be buying the DVD but it's bull they don't have complete games. What a crock.

I bought the SI package too. It said it could take 6-12 weeks. Considering that the DVD is being released tomorrow, I'll be pretty pissed if I have to wait another 2 months to get the DVD. I know I'll be able to watch it with someone else who buys it beforehand, but I don't see why it would take so long. I can wait for the leatherbound book, and I didn't even care about the shirt. But I don't see why it should take so long for the DVD to be sent.

I can't wait to get this! I was at the Best Buy in Watertown last weekend, and I saw that Rondo will be there today autographing copies of the DVD. Too bad I have a job and have no way to get out to Watertown, or I'd definitely be there!

The last two years they have released Special Edition multi disc sets in October/November, with multiple complete games (two years ago the Heat set had every finals and ECF game; last year the Spurs set had every win from each of their finals trips.) I believe these sets also have everything that is on the regular edition, and are significantly more expensive. But I will be waiting for this to come out rather than getting the one that's out now.

The big question mark is widescreen though. I believe the last two years, they were not in widescreen - that would be a big disappointment if they are not. I'm going to burn the Cavs/Pistons/Lakers wins in widescreen to DVD-R but unfortunately I can only fit 2 hours on a DVD in acceptable quality - hopefully pausing out commercials/halftime will make it ok, or I may have to take the DVD recorder back and get another one that supports DL dvdr's or has a 3 hour mode.

Yeah, I saw those other sets too. I didn't know they weren't wide screen... That would really be disappointing...

You can watch game 6, and game 1 on hulu. They also have Game 7 vs the Cavs, and Game 4 versus the hawks(which we lost).

Were those special edition DVDs licensed or distributed by the NBA? I would prefer to see the full games for most if not all of the playoff games involving the Celtics this season. Yeah, I would wait as well. I wonder if indeed a special edition is in the works for the Celtics later this year. If so, why are people buying this half as good DVD? Sometimes, it pays to wait. I'd purchased both of those issues of Sports Illustrated with a cover of Garnett and Russell and a cover of the starting five of the Celtics that I haven't read yet. This should hold me until a special edition DVD comes out. If it comes out.

have you, or anyone else, recieved their first issue of SI in the mail, or gotten any of the Celtics champ pack stuff yet?

i remember last time i ordered SI, i dont remember it taking this long for my first issue to be mailed.

i live in an apartment complex & our mail boxes are small & i'm nervous that the mailman is gonna screrw up with my packages like he's done before. i bought a Celtics magazine from ebay a few days ago & the office called & said they found that package layin on the ground. wtf?!?!?

That Hulu site is cool. Too bad they don't have more playoff games from this season.
