JR Smith

Post#1 » by TheSheriff » Sun Jul 20, 2008 1:56 am

Per wire tap:

Nuggets restricted free agent J.R. Smith hasn't gotten much attention this month, according to The Rocky Mountain News.

"I haven't heard from anybody," Smith said Friday.

Smith said he hasn't gotten an offer from the Nuggets, other than the option to return next season for the $3.04 million qualifying offer.

"I'm not sure yet. I'd have to go over that with my people," said Smith, who said he plans to talk to his representatives "at the end of the month."

Would you sign JR Smith for the MLE to be the Celtics sixth man. He has been known not to try 100% on defense, but he is young and his offense off the bench could help the offense from stagnating when Pierce and Allen are on the bench.

If you don't play defense you have no spot on this Celtics team. Sorry but no thanks to JR Smith if he's known not to try his best on d.

Signing a "young" wing man isnt exactly a need with Giddens and Walker, getting a defensive minded wing who can play mins right now is what we need.

This guy is crazy. One of the most inconsistent players in the league. He needs another 5 years of maturation before he can really help a championship team...Whenever I watched DEN games he was playing out of control. Sure he is talented but like I said in 5 years he will be someone you can count on, now you can`t.

He does want to shoot a lot, and I'm not sure how patient he can be on offense when he knows guys like Pierce, Allen and KG will all see the ball 1st.

Hell No. The guy can't play D and has off the court problems.

If you are going to use the MLE, why not give to to Ryan Gomes?
