I was just on youtube watching some POB vid's. Is he a Tyson Chandler type player? I havn't seen anything of him in college or in the pro's, I just know he was a high draft pick. Thanks for the info.

He appears to be a Tyson Chandler type player who doesn't play much.

He's a bit thicker than TC and has a better touch around the basket, but I don't think he's as athletic as Tyson, nor anywhere near as polished defensively. Just by being big and staying healthy, he should get 6-10 MPG at minimum to prove himself. If he shows defensive potential and better conditioning, I think he'll end up giving us around 10-15 MPG backing up Perk. And given how often Perk hurts himself by how hard he plays, having another 6-10+ center around can't hurt.

This article was from draft express a few years ago. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Pat ... ryant-333/

The Braves would advance to the Sweet Sixteen, upsetting Kansas in the first round and Pittsburgh in the second. It was O’Bryant’s 28 point performance against Aaron Gray that put him in the national spotlight. On the season, O’Bryant averaged 13.4 ppg, 8.3 rpg, and 2.9 bpg in 25.7 mpg. He shot 55.2% from the floor, and 67.6% from the line.

O’Bryant is quickly emerging as the top true center prospect in the 2006 NBA Draft. His upside is immense, with a potent combination of length, strength, and athleticism. There are 7-footers stronger than O’Bryant and 7-footers quicker than O’Bryant, but very few that are both. He still has much work to do, both in the weight room and on the court, but the rate at which O’Bryant has improved over the past two seasons is very encouraging.

Signing POB is like getting a early 20's first rounder, (remember he is still college aged) he has alot of potential but did not perform to expectations, i really like the signing if for no other reason then one of our biggest deficiencies last year was shotblocking when perk and KG were out.
