I know many of you were holding out hope of signing him, but he's gone now.

Chris "The Birdman" Andersen will return to the Denver Nuggets next season. He agreed to sign a one-year contract with the team, multiple sources said Wednesday.

Andersen, who resides in Denver, will make a league minimum $998,000 next season.

Andersen, a forward-center, played sparingly last season for New Orleans after returning from a two-year league suspension for substance abuse. He was reinstated in March.

In three seasons with the Nuggets from 2001-04, Andersen played in 154 games but started in just four.

His best season came with the New Orleans Hornets in 2004-05, when he average 7.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.

Well I guess this should stop all the posters who kept saying we should sign him. The fact that he signed for league min elsewhere should be a clear indication of how much Danny was interested.

Birdman stinks. I don't want to depend on a guy like Birdman. I don't trust him. No character.

Birdman was a hard worker that got caught doing drugs. Tony Allen blew out his knee in a Bar Fight where someone got shot. But you are happy about resigning Tony Allen.

I'm happy Danny didnt sign him. Not convinced he'd be better than Powe or Big Baby.

He will get a lot more time on the Court in Denver which is what he needs if he wants to continue the comeback and get more than the minimum next year.

Don't understand this infatuation with Birdman at all. He's been out of the league for 2(?) years. That's a lot of time off from the highest level of competition. Some (most) players NEVER come back from that kind of layoff.

If we wanted Birdman we would have offered him. Clearly Ainge did not want him.

Seriously? No. You can't mean that. With Birdman you know exactly what you are geting. With POB who the hell knows.

You're putting a recovering addict next to AI and Carmelo? Remember that their dysfunctional Denver squad just got swept in the first round of the playoffs.

Not known for their defense, the new look Nuggets got rid of the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year so the roster could finally cement its identity as one of the premier teams to score on.

Not content to leave well enough alone, they also pay money to sign a guy who's only claim to fame (other than being suspended for drugs) was tying Nate Robinson's record for failed attempts during a NBA dunk contest.

Hell yeah, the Birdman's gonna fly again!

Just how high?

Nobody knows...
