Perk's shoulder, any orthopedics specialists out there?

Post#1 » by Kids Are Alright » Fri Jul 25, 2008 1:54 pm

If my counting is right, Perk's shoulder has popped out three times in the pros and once in high school.
I think that this is his 2nd surgery for the dislocation.

What is the chance that he can recover and have a normal shoulder?

I fear that this injury could prevent us from having a chance to repeat, Bynum-like.

Kendricks shoulder was not dislocated. It moved slightly out of position but did not pop out of the socket. The surgery is a precaution, not a necessity.

Nothing to worry about.

That said, you can never have too many big men.

That is shoulders, not shoulder. IIRC, Perk has had problems with both.

I *think* the operations have now been done on both shoulders and both should be less likely to badly dislocate now...note, badly. I think he will have problems the rest of his career with his shoulders, but hopefully, the miss a half or a game or two kind of problems rather than the miss two months type. To be honest, I worry just as much about his feet as I do his shoulders.

base on the operations and history... the plantelas and shoulders cups of his shoulders always hurts and operations well done every season it could affect the shoulders movement and force and he cannot reach late 20's of his career and his shoulders case was same as the one of the famous Basketball player which I forgot the name forced to early retirement. Especially when he played with Ben Wallace,Rasheed and other muscle man center (imagined their bulks) that can bruises to got the good position in the court that Perk always need forces.
I hope It ca help.

Thanks Maple....this sounds about what you'd expect from any weakness in a big man that recurs every season, it'll shorten the career.
