I'm surprised that this feat hasn't been done again

As talented a player Pierce is. He hasn't been able to repeat this. What gets him statistically are his lack of blocked shots. Otherwise, Pierce would've accomplished this in his second season. I would think Garnett could in a Celtics uniform. But, like Pierce, Garnett missed out this season due to fewer blocked shots.

He is only player in the history of the Celtics to have registered 100 rebounds, 100 assists, 100 steals and 100 blocked shots in a single season which he did in the 1991/92 season with 394 rebounds, 185 assists, 125 steals and 105 blocks. Reggie once blocked four shots from Michael Jordan in one game.

Although they didn't keep track of steals and blocks until Dave Cowens 6th to 8th season,

Bill Russell and Dave Cowens each accomplished that feat.

The feat was accomplished by Reggie Lewis, not Pierce.

He is saying he's surprised the Truth never replicated what Lewis accomplished, but yeah '91-'92 is the correct year.

There's no way that Pierce could do this. He has always been well short on blocks. The closest he came was his 3rd year when he had 86 blocks, but that was a fluke year. His career BPG average is .7; you'd need a BPG of 1.25 and play 80 games to break 100. He's a great player, but he's not a shotblocker.

Makes you appreciate just how good Reggie was becoming. Man, between him and Len Bias, God only knows how many titles in the 90s we missed out on.

We would have just gotten Green 20 if Reggie and Len lived.

Sort of an odd stat, Bird missed it by 2 blocks one year.

KG has done it 8 times in his career (so far). The man has piled a lot of numbers in his career.

I remember reading in SI (I think) years ago that Jordan named Lewis and Gerald Wilkins as two players that were tough to play against for their defense on him. I think the question posed to him was asking who were the players who guarded you that you disliked playing against or something like that.

I recall watching a game where Pierce blocked a Jordan shot when he was with Washington. I think Pierce actually stole the ball when Jordan tried to recover.

By the way, does anyone know what was Lewis' wing span and what's Pierce's wing span? I believe Lewis was the taller player but Pierce has the size.

Reggie would have been one of the All-Time great C's.....he could do everything well except shoot the 3 ball but with the shorter line I'm sure he would have been respectable there as well.

His mid-range game and shot was just so pure....made everything look so easy.

Russell probably did it 12 out of 13 seasons (arrived late due to Olympics in December of rookie year).
