The Purple Express didn't have enough money left to sign Kwame, I'm SO glad Detroit signed him, it makes them significantly worse. I'd hate to be a Deeeetroit basketballlllala fan right now.

Just another typical stupid Clipper move. Ricky Davis might be the worst teammate in the history of basketball. All he does is smoke weed and gets other players to toke up as well. He is such a bad influence I dont' know where to begin. He made Udonis Haslem into an even bigger pothead and his play was noticeably worse this year. Remember the pictures of Ricky and Udonis in Seattle all toked up with 18 year old girls during a road trip? Remember when Paul Silas called him the devil? Remember when Doc said that Ricky was hard to deal with? Remember when Ricky use to roll his eyes at Paul when Paul was trying to get his teammates fired up? That's a loser.

There is a reason 90% of the teams that Ricky has played on has finished with one of the five worst records in the NBA every year. That guy is cancer because he just don't give a ****. Never has, never will. Oh, Ricky buckets will show up to play, but his idontgiveachitness doesn't go away and it translates to the whole team.

And Detroit signing Kwame Brown? Wonderful!! Kwame has the worst hands in the NBA. Seriously. Mark Blount has better hands than Kwame. Everytime Kwame played on TNT, Doug Collins always commented on how small his hands were. Detroit is going to hate that guy and I love it.

I think Ricky could work out in LA......maybe. As long as they play an offense similar to the Warriors last year, he won't have to try too hard on defense and can concentrate on getting buckets.

Kwame Brown's agent is none other than Mark Bartlestein. Damn. He represents seemingly every free agent this summer. I've read his name linked to players so much this summer that I now know someone that I'd previously never heard of.

Ricky Davis has always been a high flying and talented player offensively. I recall him when he was with Charlotte and first with Miami. But, now he has become a player who's synonymous with the word trade.

you guys are insane if you don't think the kwame signing makes detroit a ton better. stop thinking of kwame as an offensive player, he's not. he's going to drop passes and he's going to brick open shots.

at the same time he's going to give tremendous defense, decent rebounding, decent shot blocking and another big man. not to mention he's coming cheaply. he's a legit 7 footer who is probably still one of the more athletic big men in the league. this detroit team won a championship with ben wallace on it and he's even worse at offensve that kwame.

kwame can also have big points in big games. he'll fit PERFECTLY in detroit. he was exposed in LA because kobe was practically chillin' out there alone and they brought him in hoping he'd finally break out of his shell and dominate. but the truth is, kwame is NEVER going to be a dominate player offensively but that doesn't mean he's not an effective player on the court. also he usually has his best defensive performances against big name players aka people like garnett.

if detroit manages to swing rasheed for josh smith i'd be really scared of them.

detroit fans will probably cringe every time kwame drops a pass or goes for a layup instead of a dunk and probably go :( at his box scores but they'll be happy they have him come playoff time.

Would you take Kwame over O'Bryant? Who could have a better year next season? I think K. Brown will be decent with Detroit. I mean he basically will replace Ratliff. Still, he's four years older than O'Bryant and O'Bryant hasn't reached his ceiling yet. You might have seen the most of what you can expect from K. Brown. He should be in his prime years right now.

for the celtics, i think whoever was cheaper was the best choice. we don't exactly lack defense and we just needed someone tall that could score a bucket or two.

kwame isn't a bad signing at 4 million, especially when you consider we are paying scalabrine 3 million a year to do nothing. and he had a long contract, kwame's is only 2 years. and more than likely going to just be one.

POB was easily the better choice for us, not only because he was cheaper but he'll make a bigger impact defensively. I think some of you will be surprised with his impact when the season is in December or so.

kwame is a terrible player on a terrible team

kwame will be a good rotation guy on a contender.

i don't see why this is so hard to grasp. the lakers were horrible, the wizards were horrible, the grizzlies were horrible. yet kwame still played acceptable basketball for the most part even if he makes dumb mistakes.

his mistakes are going to be hidden a lot more around the cast detroit has. all he has to do is play hard nosed defense and make a layup or two which he CAN do pretty decently.

dwight howard
jermaine o'neal
chris bosh
garnett
brand

these are just some of the great big men that detroit is going to run into. kwame is going to help tons.

and no, i'm not a kwame homer. i'm not his biggest fans but you guys are WAAAY underestimating him and this signing.

I can't believe I'm doing this. In Kwames defense he hasn't been healthy in 3 years. Lets see what he can do when healthy. He has a great NBA frame and junk hands. That is about half the guys in the L. I still belive he is paying for a poor decision by MJ. MJ said he was going to either take Shane battier or role the dice on kwame. Shane Battier? I mean why. He said there was no great players in that draft. I will have to double check that. I don't remember a durnat, oden, rose or beasley type. But still, SHANE BATTIER.

What???? What player in the NBA doesnt "toke up" and where are your facts on this??? STOP MAKING UP STORIES PEOPLE!!!!

His teams have been awful because 90% of his teams have been awful come on now are you really going to blame the Heat having an awful record last season on Ricky Davis lol, come on now you just dont like him no need to make up stories.

When has Paul Pierce ever said he didn't like a teammate? He said it about Ricky D. and how his act was getting old. I liked Ricky's game but as with a lot of these guys the act was to much.

WHAT ACT I seriously think I missed these Pierce comments, but if he did say it then I can see why Danny never wanted him back.

I admire your loyalty Tricky but I think you're the only guy on this board who didn't hear about all the stories that came out after the Ricky trade. Let's just say he wasn't missed by his teammates or coaches. For example, Pierce was pissed at him for rolling his eyes and generally undermining his leadership when Pierce was trying to get his team fired up for a comeback.

Honestly, I think Ricky is a guy who loves the NBA lifestyle, and winning or losing is just incidental. He knows that if he can score 15 ppg he will keep getting contracts, so he can continue to party and toke and enjoy the night life with free plane tickets around the country.
