LOL what a friggin dork!! i like this kid. in all the interviews ive seen he seems really relaxed, easy going but underneath very understanding of the opportunity he has here. cant wait to see him play.

I know it's not right, but personally, I'm rooting hard for Bill Walker to make and stick with the team more than I am for JR. I don't hate JR, but he rubbed me the wrong way when he said his favorite player was Kobe and how he wanted to see him win the title whereas Bill Walker was trashing and professing his hatred for the Lakers.

keep waiting. his salary is guaranteed but teams can pay anywhere between 80-120% of the slotted salary. its been standard for most 1st rnd picks to get the full 120% of the slotted possible salary but considering our financial restraints ainge may be hesitant to do so and he may have been at the time considering the posey situation had not been solved yet. not to mention if he gets injured it hurts their bargaining position. so again rather than risk his clients health without a contract hes holding him out.

I understand what you're saying, but you can't compare Giddens to Pierce. Pierce grew up 10 minutes from the Forum where the Lakers used to play. And Pierce wasn't drafted by the Celtics right after the C's had played the Lakers in the NBA Finals. If Giddens was like 19 or 20-years old and said that he was rooting for Kobe to get his ring, whatever. But this guy is 23-years old and just spent 5 years in college. You'd hope that he'd have more common sense than to come to Boston and talk about how much he loves Kobe and how much he wanted to see Kobe get his ring when the team that drafted him has 3 veteran superstars who all hate Kobe. Way to introduce yourself to the team I guess...

Yes, we'd much rather have liars on our team than a guy who is not afraid to be honest. He could have probably said no comment, but if he's a Kobe fan, what do you expect. Pierce doesn't hate Kobe, I don't know if KG likes him, but Ray does hate him. All 3 of those guys know Kobe personally though, so it's different for them than it is for just a college player from the midwest who just sees NBA players on TV. Now that Giddens is on the team, I don't think there will be a problem with him rooting against the Celtics.

You said Gidden shouldn't play because he might get injured... I merely pointed out that he already has a guaranteed contract.

I know why he didn't show up because his agent wants a few hundred thousand dollars more... but if he is going to stick to his guns... he shouldn't go to the photo shoot.

i didnt change the subject i merely highlighted your lack of knowledge on it. big difference. photo shoots dont cause injuries francis, on the other hand mini camps with full contact practices can. what about "his agent is looking out for his clients best interests" dont you understand?

I don't care that Giddens likes Kobe. If we can't draft guys who like Kobe that would really limit our choices. Just don't go wearing a Lakers Jersey around the C's locker room. Now that your a pro you have to root for the team that drafted you.

On a personal level - I actually think that PP and Kobe are on friendly terms at least. I don't think he hangs out with the guy but I got the impression Kobe would call him up and put pick up teams together in LA..

Sports fans should be good natured and fun with regards to the rivarlries. The word "hate" gets thrown around too much. I don't hate anyone or any team with regards to sports. Though some players and teams annoy me.
