This might have been already said but we should sign JR Smith from Denver. Kid is very young and got skills. Kid might be unprofessional and immature but been in the league for some time on bad /or medicore teams and never really had the right guys around him. In Denver he had a good year stepped up his 3point shot can fly we all know that, but the best is that Coach karl had him playin serious mins at Point with AI and he did a pretty good job. Kid can play the 1-3 spots. With his athletism he has to be able to work on the D and with TT schemes he can work. He is a G. Green suped up! Kid can shoot, bring the ball up and potential play D.
I know we are strap for cash but can DA and Doc a "players coach" talk him into winning a few rings and contributing to our 2nd unit? Bulid some a good rep on a good team and make the big bucks down the road? I would say give him the rest of the MLE for 3 yrs with a team option for a 4th. In the East he wouldnt really have to much to worry about could be like Ricky when he came off the bench that year, instant offense. He can and would learn alot playing with PP learning the vet moves and what young kid who is a fan of the game wouldnt want to play wit KG, PP, RA?

2unit:
House/ Pruitt
T Allen/ House/ Giddens
JR Smith/ Scal/ Walker
Powe/ Baby/ Scal
POB/ Baby!

Worth the risk? what do you guys think? Its my very first post! by the way are you guys ready for 18?

No way Denver doesn't match any offer less than the MLE, IMO. And welcome aboard.

He'd be a great pick-up, but I don't see how we can realistically afford him.

this is true however the camby deal shows that they are strap for cash and are willing to lose quality players to save a few dollars in L. Taxs. Dont we have a good amount like 3 plus mill left on the MLE? or does a sign and trade work? We dont have much to give but mayb Leon or BAby and get them so low post scoring and another tough big to go with an aging Kenyon Martin?

I think he duplicates JR Giddens at this point (not only because of their first names, LOL!). Although JRS looks to be the better outside shooter, JRG looks like a better defender.

we don't need JR smith. he wouldn't even start here, and we'd have to pay him starter money. plus we're over the lux tax too. if we wanted to spend that much on a swingman we would have re-signed posey.

and u shud get a spell checker.

He has attitude problems, he's a rebellious thug-I don't want any part of J.R. Smith.

I don't think the Nuggets will let him go. He's one guy they seem to be poised to keep, amidst all the salary dumping. Besides, we don't really need him. I think what we have is fine. Just get PJ Brown to come back in February and we'll be on our way to repeat title!

I don't think the kid has an attitude problem as much as a severe lack of understanding on how to play pro ball. He has simply had to learn on the job and has shown some dramatic improvement. Whatever you think of Karl as a coach, and some I like some I dislike, he has shown a knack for developing the million dollar talent with the 10 cent basketball brain over his career. Tim Thomas comes to mind.

I think that he has matured to the point that he could be a 20ppg scorer in a starting role and that is who he should be. I think that DEN resigns him to a good deal for both sides.

Then I think they should send Melo and that trade exception from the Camby deal to DET for Sheed and Prince.

Making the Nugs
AI/JR Smith/Prince/Nene/Wallace - A much more balanced and improved defensive team even with the loss of Camby and Karl will love Wallace for a year. If it works keep it together if not you have a nice young nucleous and 35 mil off the books at the end of the season.

And the Pistons
Billups/Hamilton/Melo/McDyess with 10 mil to find another big body.

Ah but that makes too much sense.

If C Shud wants JR, C Shud should get him.

I wouldn't want him on The Celtics though.
