Guys, you probably have already seen this by now, but if not, here it is in its entirety. Just an amazing race, especially the last leg. Wow!

My wife got me into this swimming stuff. These guys are amazing. The guy who anchored the us team was supposedly the worse swimmer and he pulled it off.

I didn't even know I liked swimming but I jumped up out my chair, yelled, and threw my fist in the air at the end of that race as if Ray Allen had just beat the Bobcats at the buzzer.

Ryan Lochte is a local kid - that got me into watching swimming - that race was an amazing even - who knew swimming could be that exciting

Since I was young, I have always loved the olympics. Every 2 years sports that I would normally care nothing about give me a lot of enjoyment. Last nights relay was one of my favorite olympic moments of all time. That finish made me jump off my couch and cheer.

Hopefully it stays a feel good story. With all these records getting obliterated, you have to wonder if its on the up and up. I know about the Speedo swimsuit and the techie pool, but we are talking about whole seconds being taken off. Team USAs "B" team beat the record in the prelims. The fifth place team in the finals would have broken the old record. Maybe I am just jaded after Marion Jones, Bonds, Clemens, et al.

As much as I love the Celtics, the Olympics are on another level for me- national pride > Celtic pride for me at least (sorry guys!). After hearing a brash and largely unproven (on the biggest stages) French squad trash talk Phelps and co., I could not wait for the race. Other than a mediocre performance from first-timer Cullen Jones, all the swimmers were phenomenal. To say the least, Lezak put in perhaps the best individual performance in a relay race of all time. 46.06 is unfathomable.

On a side note, Alain Bernard has to be one of the dumber/dumbest athletes at the Games. First, he trash talks a team that hardly needed more motivation. Then he just swam a really dumb race. By expending all his energy on the first length, he allowed Lezak to draft (similar to NASCAR) and get carried in his wake. By the turn, he had expended 75% of his juice, while Lezak had plenty in the tank AND he had the Bernard in his sightlines.

Probably the highlight of the Olympics for me will be in the last 5 meters, Lezak and Bernard looked at one another just before they were going to touch. Lezak gave a look at Bernard as if to say, "Not here, not tonight." And in the blink of an eye, I was going insane. The best part? Almost two more full weeks of competitions- track hasn't even begun!

It was truly remarkable how much ground he made up in just the last 15 meters. Exhilarating. Highlight of the games, for sure.

Anytime you can beat the french it is a good thing. Especially after they talked so much trash.

The Frenchmen thought we would just roll over and let him win, but we reminded him we weren't french.
