Details on Special Edition Championship DVD

Post#1 » by chakdaddy » Mon Aug 11, 2008 8:00 pm

Bestbuy and Amazon have the pre-orders up for the Championship DVD special edition, to be released October 28th. Amazon has the back cover shown and I can read the details of what's on it.

There is some bad news - 2 years ago Miami got a 13 disc set with all 12 games from the Finals and ECF;

Last year the Spurs got a 16 disc set which all the wins from all their championships.

We only get a 5 disc set with the 4 wins from the Finals plus Game 7 against the Cavs. Weak. At least the price is commensurately lower.

It looks like it isn't widescreen either. No sign of a blu ray release either.

I'm just going to burn all the wins from the semi's on to DVD in widescreen myself. Too bad I lost my recording of the clincher though!! I had to download it from the internet but some things are missing I think.

WTF. That's ridiculous. What did the Heat do to deserve a 13 disc set, while we end up with 5? We have the best regular season turnaround in NBA history by a mile, spike TV ratings, sell out tickets and fill arenas like no other team in the league, and that's the best they can come up with?

I'll just keep the original DVD. At least include Game 7 against Atlanta and SOMETHING, ANYTHING from the Detroit series (which may have been my favorite for pure basketball reasons).

This is a joke.

I don't care how many discs were in the Heat or the Spurs set. The Celtics are going to enjoy a victory tour as they go from city to city next year that other teams can only dream about ever getting. I know when they come to Jersey to play the Nets. It is going to be just like it was in the 80's. There will be so much Green in that arena It will look like Ivy is growing in the seats.

The only thing the Heat needed in their set was the 4th quarter of Game 3 to the end of the series...and interview with the refs afterward explaining how the elevated Dwyane Wade's game to a new level.

And all those discs for the Spurs? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRING.

Yet the historic Celtics championship gets the shaft...typical NBA....
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
