OT: Looking for suggestions for a Boston Celtics tattoo

I've been wanting to get a Boston Celtics tattoo for over a year now and would like to get it done in time for the new season. As I know this forum is full of creative and talented Celtics fans I thought it would be fun and also useful to ask for your suggestions for the tattoo.
The more detailed your suggestion is, the better. That means I hope to have the entries as pictures. I'm looking for something about 5 inches in diameter as I'm considering having it on my upper arm. The rest is up to you. If you want to ask me something to add a personal touch to it, please do. I don't have a prize to offer but if your suggestion is good enough I just might have it done.
I'm looking forward to your input! Thanks!

Maybe things are different in Europe, but around here I would suggest not being that guy. Good luck though.

Hmm, I myself am not a tattoo fan, I know very few people in their thirties who are glad tehy got tattoos when they were younger. However if yoru going to get one, upper arm is good as it cant be seen at work or all the time. I would suggest sometehing like the logo but not something that can go out of date like the year or number of titles.

keep it simple is my advice. 15 leprachauns in a circle around all the retired numbers, with the banners in the background superimposed on a TD Banknorth garden seating chart.

My suggestions is to not get a tattoo.
At the end of the day it's a sports team...why permanently scar yourself with a logo?
Just my $0.02...good luck with whatever your final decision is

This is my tattoo. . . . . .I don't mind the anti-tattoo comments I seen in here because I understand where these people are coming from. Personally, I've been part of an American sub-culture in which tattoos are commonplace for over half of my life. I'm poor and if that ever changes I'll probably have a lot more work done. . .
If you plan on perusing a professional career try to get it on the shoulder or somewhere not blatantly visible, of course. In regards to what to get; Don't ask anyone but yourself! It's your tattoo, your skin, and will be there for life. . .I mean, I'll suggest going simple and classic for the same reasons the other posters gave but all in all you have to follow your heart. . . .If you plan on getting more tattoos later down the road you may want to consider how it could play into the bigger picture(Sleeves, etc).
Anyway. . Don't let this forum tell you not to get a tattoo - or TO get one. There are plenty of people out there who live 'em, hate 'em, regret 'em, cherish 'em, and so on. They come from all walks of life and reflect a number of different ideas and values. so. . . . whatever you do just make sure it is your own choice.
PS - The picture was taken fairly shortly after the tattoo was done which is why it appears glossy and if you look closely you can see some spotting and scabbing. It healed over pretty nicely though since getting it I've slacked in some of the upkeep and the color needs touched up (If you do get anything done, make sure you protect it from elongated periods of direct sun!)

Good advice. I have plenty of tattoos and would never tell anyone to get them or not. I love when people who hate tattoos say "don't get them" Of course you are going to say that. Anyway, my advice is just make sure you get something that you know you will love for the rest of your life. I stick to cultural/artistic things that define me as a person, not people, sports teams or other run of the mill stuff.

No Names, No Munbers, No Logos. All of those change. A shamrock is probably your best best. That or a flaming skull that is screaming "Anything is possiblllllllllllllleeeeeeeee!"

Getting one is not a bad idea, I don't know why some are opposed. Obviously, "SCAL IS MY HOMEBOY" would be weird, and stupid, and regretful. But, something like I posted above would look cool.

To those who suggest not to get one: I appreciate you concern for your fellow man. I have body piercings that will leave a scar once removed so I'm no that worried to get a somewhat discreet tattoo. I will be 30 in 2 weeks so I'm not a spring chicken either. I pretty much know who I am and I know I want a tattoo

Thanks for all the input anyway!
As for the actual suggestions for the tattoo, I think I'm leaning towards the logo Celtics_Champs posted. I have a lucky zippo lighter and a wrist watch with it so why not a tattoo.
Thats a nice pic, Benjamerica!

Thanks man!
I agree that logos are risky as things can change but I felt comfortable with the Celtic's logo seeing that it hasn't really changed in howwwwwwww many years? haha. Luckily my favorite basketball team's logo is a rather classic and iconic one.
I also agree with Canman about getting things that represent you and are more cultural\artistic, but that is why I went with what I did rather than getting any text as well or like "CELTIC PRIDE" hahaha.
I feel that the fact I've been a C's fan my whole life, through all those horrible years, and even got it done before this past season's trades were made represents more than just *Hey, I like that* but it represents my loyalty(Which is a quality I value having and appreciate others having through all aspects of life).
If you do get a Celtic's tat I expect to see a picture of it posted up here

Well Im the young kid who makes dumb decisions just to get that out of the way.
If you dont like tattoos, thats cool, whatever floats your boat but dont ever tell someone else how to live their lives and what to do to their body. its gonna end up in a coffin either way. I myself am working on my right arm sleeve with kinda medium sized stuff in the classic look. my celtics tattoo is a small green no.6 on the front of my wrist.

and where do you live? i might know somebody around ya good to go to. got many friends in the biz

Don't worry, the photo serves it purpose. As to my whereabouts, I'm in Helsinki, Finland. Luckily, I have some friends that have gotten pics done so I can get some advice about the local artists. Thanks for the offer anyway!

Wish I'd have read this before I had SCAL IS MY HOMEBOY tattooed across my left buttcheek ...
