Anyone think we can use Olowakandi as tradebait??
The main target I have in mind is Stephen Jackson. With Ellis going down it's full blown panic mode on the GS board. He's seemingly a perfect replacement for Posey. He has bought into the team concept before with SA(It got iffy at the end if i remember correctly though), he's used to smallball(if Doc continues to insist), the only issue is his D isnt as good as James' but who can say that?

Van Horn didnt have a contract though, Dallas just never renounced his rights. I believe its the same with Olowakandi.
and his main worth is a year less on his contract. it was just a basic idea wondering if we could do this type of deal.

No, absolutely not.

Stephen Jackson is a chucker and only plays defense when he feels like it. He is one of the biggest under-achievers in the entire league as far as playing up to his talent level as well because he is one of those guys that plays for his numbers instead of playing to win.

It works and nobody says anything against him in Golden State because Don Nelson is the coach and he wants to create a frantic pace and places more importance on scoring as many points as possible through volume then anything else.

Stephen Jackson could be one of the top five or six all around SF-SG's in the league if he played the game the right way. He just doesn't work for good shots and takes the first one that presents itself and he doesn't show up to play defense every night even though he is capable of being a great defensive player more often then not he doesn't even try these days.

Jackson was the third leading scorer on a championship team, with Tim Duncan calling him the perfect teammate. He's a "chucker," as you've already answered for yourself, because he now plays in Don Nelson's system which encourages players to launch the first shot they see. You're making him out to be a Ricky Davis-like player, when that's not the case at all.

I had thought about this a lot, but then I looked into it and found out that this is probably why the BYC rules exist.

Basically since he had a minimum contract before, even though we have his bird rights, if we re-signed him to a huge 1 year contract to use as trade ballast, the BYC rules would make it nearly impossible to trade him.

The reason van horn was useful and pj brown could have been for the bulls, is that they ALREADY had big contracts so they didn't need a big raise that would set off the BYC problems.

why would we need another sg/sf even if we cut Miles we still have PP/Jesus/TA/Giddens/Walker. Throw in House and the 2/3 position is where we have the most depth.
