What would be a good name for the oklahoma new team ? new team, hey that's not a bad name. hey who we playin today. Oh! we play the new team. Or The "OKay's". I can hear it now as the annoouncers confuse each other. So marv, who do you think will win tonight. OKay. Okay. Okay. wait what was the question again ?
Any suggestions for a name ?

OKC Thunder is a WNBA name.
Should be the OKC Team That Shouldn't Even Be in Oklahoma Except Their Sleazy Stern Crony Jerk Owner Screwed Seattle and the Fans for Wanton Greed Moved Them Home After Lying About It When He Bought Them...or the OKC TTSEBOETSSCJOSSFWGMTHALAIWHBT

I like the reason for the name because it has a reason as well as meaning. But how do you fit it in the uniforms?

I lived in Oklahoma for a while when I was a kid, they should have named the team the Rattlesnakes or something, it's a wildlife staple there. The Rednecks, Tics, Rattlesnakes, Inbreds, Armadillos, any of that would work. Of course we lived in the boonies, I've heard there are really nice areas of OK, but where we lived was a bit of a hell-hole. I was never happier to see Massachusetts than when we moved back. Of course given the way the team got to OK, the Oklahoma AWOL's would have been a good name also.

Oklahoma used to be a haven for outlaws, raiders and bandits but I would settle for catfishes. I think they got a river that got a plenty of them bigger than a regular cat. Everyone would go there and try to catch one as a trophy. The residents are still talking about monster sightings big as a rowboat.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The NBA has filed for trademark rights to six nicknames for the league's new Oklahoma City franchise: Barons, Bison, Energy, Marshalls, Thunder and Wind.
An attorney for the league made the filing Monday with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Marshal is usually spelled with one l. It's not clear why the league used a variant spelling.

I really dig the Barons as a team name. Energy and Wind are the lames sports team names, ever. Sometimes the best names are the ones that don't take themselves so seriously. Making it sound so melodramatic is a sure-fire way you can tell they've been trying too hard.
