With Newport Camp around the Corner, Players Already at Work

Pre-training camp updates... Powe is still dunking and Miles is swatting the ball...

And Walker is in awe...

Call me crazy but I not too sure tying a car tire on your back during workouts is a good idea...

Football players do it all the time and it worked for Manny Ramirez. That said. Count me in as pleased with the news. I maintain my hesitancy about Miles until I see him in preseason which I'll get a chance to do live in person when they come to Manchester next month. But it's good to see him working out the guys. Getting to know them and contributing during games. It's great to see Paul doesn't appear to have lost his edge or his hunger one bit from winning. It's his attitude and leadership next to Ray and KG is one of the big reasons why I'm so glad we have a young group of players to soak up this winning attitude and follow the example they set. It will only make them better sooner. In O'Bryant, Giddens, Pruitt, Walker, and to a lesser extent Miles(if he makes the team) we have 5 inexperienced kids. I look for at least 2 of them to make an impact on this squad this year. If so we're gonna have an awesome bench. Just you wait.

Where's KG? Slacking off, I bet. :D

This was encouraging. Thanks!

Where's Scal? He was all over the early workouts the last few years.

A good sign that POB is in the workouts.

Someone needs to sneak in and give a report on Davis' physical condition. I don't remember any updates this summer on whether he is being successful in shedding some weight, developing some vertical leap ...

Davis was running with car tires as well, except they were around his waist.

IF Darius Miles is really back, he will turn out to be a steal of Epic proportions. It's too bad that he'll only be here for 1 year at most. I really wish I could have been there to check out how O'Bryant matched up against Powe and Miles, and to see how TA looked after a summer of healing. They should videotape these sorts of things for the basketball starved fans.

Those teams they played were pretty one-sided though. Paul must really think he is the best in the world to agree to those lineups.
Rondo Pruitt
Allen Giddens
Allen Pierce
Powe Baby
Miles O'Bryant

I take team A, 9 times out of 10.

Either team would beat the Lakers.

Does anyone know if it is customary for the team to let the public view any of their workouts during training camp? I live within walking distance of Salve Regina, so I sure hope they do have at least a few public scrimmages. Any info is much appreciated.

And if I do manage to get in to watch a workout, you can rest assured that I'll keep the board updated!

On the celtics homepage, they have a few interviews from the pre-camp workouts and video from the ring fitting ceremony. Tony Allen cracks me up, he got his fitted for his pinkie finger, must be he's planning on adding some more to his collection.

Now I'm pumped for the season. Especially with Brady going down the pats games aren't as fun even though they are winning.

I really hope it's open too! I'm in Portsmouth, nice to know there's another local islander, haha
