should the celtics have to meet bush?

wat u guys think of this? its called 'George Bush Doesn't Care About Black People (Unless They're The Celtics)'.. title mite be betta than the article hehe

Isn’t it patently ridiculous, nigh absurd, that the Celtics are forced to meet Bush?

I’m not here to make cheap Dubya zingers — they’re nearly as played out as Michael Jackson jokes — but why would a team of athletes want to meet an embarrassment to democracy like Bush? Are they forced to attend? If a politically-minded player justifiably opted to reject a Bush handshake, would they be fined or suspended?

i dont think bush fans will like it

This is an embarrassing topic, and this is coming from someone who certainly is not a Bush fan. However, BTB is right, he is still the President of the USA and it is tradition that championship teams meat the President. I met his Dad this past summer and was thrilled at the opportunity. It was neat. For all the Bush bashers, one has to remember, Congress has been Democrat for 2 years now and look what has been happening? Not exactly good stuff. It is both the Republicans and Democrats and their partisan bull that is screwing up American, not Bush alone. Also, the players have a choice not to go the White House and they chose to go.

I am a Democrat.

But in a time of war that has now spread to our financial markets, I find this Bush hatred as unpatriotic. He is the president and the comander in cheif, and we have a chance to replace him.

Yes, they should have met the president, because it inspired our soldiers risking their lives for us.

I think it should totally be up to the individual player. I personaly would not meet with him. He is the epidamy of a Facist. Look up the defenition of a Facism and he IS one. This is not an ignorant statment. You should NEVER back a goverment when they were wrong just to save face, now that is unpatriotic.

WOW!! So he was wrong to protect us from the terrorist? By wrong I assume that you mean going to Iraq and fighting Al Qaeda? If that makes him wrong then I don't ever want to be right. I understand my view is unpopular, but the man was right. Fight them on their turf so it doesn't have to happen in the streets of the USA ever again. Why do people have trouble understanding that?

A time of war (his fault) that has spread to our markets (also his fault). Inspired our soldiers risking their lives for oil? Maybe.

The worst part for me was seeing the Celtics jersey with his name on it. I threw up a little.

Because there was no Al Qaeda in Iraq until we went there. I supported his war in Afghanistan (you know, where that bin Laden guy is) but Iraq is a gigantic **** that he needs to be held accountable for.

The man was patently wrong on Iraq and a great many things.

Well they both invaded soverign countries under false pretenses. They both use religon to gather support for there agenda. They have both killed hundreds of thousands of people. They are both figure heads for a corporate ruled economy.

Good LORD...

I'm going to put this into basketball terms. Remember Ron Artest's infamous brawl in Detroit? Remember how he blindly and recklessly charged at (whom he thought) was the obnoxious fan who threw a cup of beer at him, only to realize his mistake a few seconds later?

In this case, Dubbya is Artest, he's STILL GOING AFTER THE WRONG FRIGGING PERSON, and STILL won't admit that he's wrong. Now he's got a whole legion of folks around the world pissed off at us (including those from his own "team", so to speak).
