"Give me a couple more short summers where I feel like with this team, [we] set our mark. Every Celtics team sort of had their run, and its multiples. It's only right that we set our mark in this league like Timmy [Duncan] has done it with the Spurs, Kobe [Bryant] and Shaq [O'Neal] have done it [with the Lakers]. This is my opportunity to do that. I'm trying to take advantage of it fully right now."

Now that the Cs have gotten #17, they need their place in Celtics' history. Each Celtic great team has won at least 2 titles in a short amount of time and it has been since 67-68 and 68-69 since they last repeated, so bring it on.

Damn straight:

Pierce is not shy about stating the team's goal of attempting to win successive titles.

"I looked up and saw the banner from last season but I also saw we haven't repeated since '68-69," Pierce said. "That's more motivation to repeat. So, let's try to make more history."

...talk is cheap...I think it'll take them some time to get to the same energy level we saw last year, I doubt they jump out of the gate with that same energy...but once the playoffs start getting closer I think this team will be in full gear and ready to win another title for sure-what other purpose is there for playing 6 months?

If anything they were too wound up going into the playoffs. If they're a notch looser at the end of this year, that's all the better.
