5 Greatest Celtics moments.

In no particular order:

Pierce's knee injury and return.

Bird's stealing of the inbounds pass and DJ's layup.

Havelcek stealing the ball.

Russel - Chamberlein as a Laker battle.

The game Heinsohn shut the Philly fans up.

What say you?

There are so many great moments in the history of the Celts its hard to choose just five. I'll leave that to the experts.

Don Nelson's foul line jumper that bounced straight up and dropped right down through the rim with one minute left in game 7 of the 1969 finals to win the championship. It was Russell and Sam Jones' last game. The balloons stayed in the rafters at the LA Forum.

1. 2008 Finals Game 4: Comeback Victory (Best Game and Greatest Comeback that I've ever seen)

2. 1957 Championship (Game 7 Double Overtime 125-123 Victory) - The First One is the Toughest

3. 1968 Overcoming 1-3 Deficit to powerful World Champion Philadelphia
(Philadelphia's record was 62-20 and 68-13 the previous year)
to win ECF series in 7 games and beat Lakers in Finals in 6 games

4. 1969 ECF Game 4: With less than 2 seconds remaining,
Celtic SG Sam Jones is double teamed by
Knicks First Team All Defense Walt Frazier (arguably the best defensive guard ever) and
Dave Debusschere (Charley Rosen of Fox Sports just called Debusschere
the best defensive forward ever).
Sam Jones puts the ball behind his head in mid-air, switching hands,
and Sam Jones makes 17 FOOT JUMP SHOT LEFTY
(Debusschere smothered Jones right shoulder)
to win 97-96, allowing the Celtics to go up 3-1, and ultimately win the series 4-2, leading to

5. 1969 FINALS Seven Game Victory over Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor and Jerry West Lakers; with Sam Jones making last second shot to win Game 4 (89-88),
capping Bill Russell's run of 11 Championships in 13 seasons and
Sam Jones run of 10 Championships in 12 seasons
(Russell and Jones both retired).

6. 1976 FINALS Game 5: Triple Overtime Victory 128-126,
with Celts going on to win series in 6 games.

7. 1962 ECF, Game 7: Sam Jones makes shot with 2 seconds left
over Wilt Chamberlain's outstretched arm to win game;
Celts advance to Finals against Lakers,
Sam Jones scores 12 points in Overtime to win Game 6,
Celtics then beat Lakers in game 7 to win Championship.

8. 1984 FINALS Game 2 (against Lakers): Gerald Henderson's steal and last second shot,
forcing overtime, allowed Celtics to win Game
and ultimately win Championship Series in 7 Games.

9. 1965 ECF Game 7: Celts Up against Chamberlain's Philadelphia 110-109,
5 seconds left, Philly inbounds ball,
John Havlicek ntercepts Hal Greer's pass to Chet Walker;
Celts beat Lakers in Finals 4-1.

10. 1987 ECF, Game 5: Detroit Up by 1 point with 5 seconds to go;
Larry Bird steals Isiah Thomas' inbounds pass and feeds Dennis Johnson for winning basket,
Celts win series in 7 games; but LOSE FINALS to Lakers in 6 games.

The 1980's Lakers were well-known for fastbreak. Larry Bird's fastbreak dunk on them in 1984.

Walker shouted in Pierce's ear during the huddle that triggered the greatest comeback in the NBA history against New Jersey in 2002.

Celtics battling Phoenix in two overtimes to win the 1976 championship.

McHale clotheslined Rambis with no flagrant call.

Parish knocked down Laimbeer with two punches and didn't get ejected.
