Damon Jones

Post#1 » by rambo_ortega » Tue Sep 30, 2008 4:13 am

I think we should get him. he is a point guard with good size, capable defender and has a very good ability in shooting 3's.

what do you guys think? is it still possible after we re-signed cassell?

If we didn't have Cassell...=\ Adding Jones would just add to the surplus of guards that we have.

You almost made me laugh calling dj a capable defender, the reason he never got on the floor was because he was so bad defensively. He can still shoot but other than that he is good for nothing else. Well maybe a couple of laughs...........

Why go with DJ when you already have House?

damon jones didn't get time o the floor because he wasn't good at distributing the ball esp with lebron as the focus on offense. he is a capable defender, as evident in his stint with miami.

he is also a better ballhandler than house and bigger.

It would be a good pick up if we didnt already have House.

They bring the same skill package to the team IMO>

One of the funniest things I've ever read. He is so NOT a point guard and his defense is pathetic. He is a poor man's Eddie House. A very poor man.

Damon Jones is a terrible defender, perhaps even deathly allergic. He also is about as much of a PG as Eddie House. The guy does one thing well and for that he walks the earth as though he was some combo of Michael and Wilt, the guy has an incredible tude. I can't really see any circumstance were I would be happy that he was on this team.

They are set at PG the issue is someone who can play center.

Yeah, he's really an awful defender. I also don't think I'd want his douche bag personality on our team.

If it were possible to sign him to a 3-game contract, I'd bite just to hear how Tommy would have to spin his comments about his disgust for Jones' personality/ego. It was pretty entertaining with regards to Cassell (and Payton before him).

That said, I wouldn't take him on our team for Scal and a couple of seconds.

In Miami? He's at least as bad as Cassell when it comes to defense. And yes, we already have Eddie House so adding Jones would just create more problems in the rotation. He definitely wouldn't make the anyway.

I might have taken him over Cassell, though I do think Cassell is (or was) more of a pure point and provides a better locker-room presence. Anyways he's 32 years old, coming off of some injury issues, and its yet to be seen what that might mean for his career. More importantly I like Eddie House and we just don't have room for him.

Having Damon Jones on this squad would mean the Celts would win 58-62 games as opposed to only winning 58-62 games. He is a difference maker.
