Heinsohn done on the road but nor surprising or the issue

We saw this coming and this happened quite regularly last year but I just want to point out that I cant stand Donny Marshals voice, I mean is the only New England tie this guy have come from playing ball at UConn? He did play ball for a Nets team alot of us hated back in the day.

This is the Boston Celtics, and they just had there best season in 20 years, I seriously doubt that Marshal is the best guy for the job and doubt more so about wether or not he is the only guy who does want the job.

Soon it will be all games, the guy just peeks my nerves.

I'm with ya. I just don't like Donny that much. I can stand him on the pre and post games but cmon, this is the Celtics! Is Donny Marsahll REALLLY the best we can get? I doubt it.

What's Bill Walton up to nowadays? Will his health permit him to work road games? I'd take Scott Pollard over Donny too. I prefer my homers to have at least played for the Cs. I don't have anything against Donny, but when he tries to play the homer role, it just seems so forced, so contrived. If we had Walton do the play-by-play, at least you'd know the silly comments were stemming from true Celtic Pride. Well, that, and probably acid.

hmm, now theres an idea. I've been iffy on Bill in the past when he was on ESPN/ABC, but if he came here it'd be all C's, all the time with him. What's funny is we have 2 legit guys who would be awesome at it in Danny & Doc.

Think we could get Bill Simmons to do the road games? At least on the West Coast?

Cornbread Maxwell going to the TV booth?!?

Think of the graphics that could be made out of his " Max-isms"

I'll miss Tommy. :(

That being said, his constant negativity about officiating, while refreshing compared to league "yes-men" like virtually every broadcaster (with the exception of JVG), was becoming increasingly difficult to listen to. I very much enjoyed Donny's analysis of the game last year, whether it was from Donny Wahlberg or Marshall...heh. Listening to Tommy after listening to Marshall really amplified the amount of complaining he did during telecasts.

That being said, it's best that it's working out this way AFTER we won a title. It'd be pretty depressing if it worked out like this during a crappy/tank year.

I may be the only person that feels this way, but I generally find Max to be more interested in self-promotion as opposed to telling a story about the action on the floor. Maybe it stands out so much because Grande's got a flair for melodrama.

Donny is hilarious, unintentionally, when he takes it upon himself to say, criticize Tim Duncan's game. But at the same time, I respect the balls it takes to do that, if you're lowly Donny Marshall. As long as we get Tommy at home, it's all good. On the road, I would much prefer Max or Walton or Simmons over Donny, though.

I like Donny Wolhberg, I feel like he goes on RealGM and talks about all the stuff we hear and read in the media...he def. knows his stuff...I dont know much about Max though...that might be interesting...

Meh, I am not a donny marshall hater, I like him on the pre/postgame, but if this is the future of celtics broadcasting, I wish they would get someone else.

Cousy will not be retained either for his annual ten games.

I am going to miss tommy and mikes west coast trip stories, of all the places they ate at.

I'm just glad that we still get Tommy for home games, the broadcasts just aren't the same without him. That being said, while I think Donny isn't that great Mike Gorman is the man and can carry pretty much anyone they stick out there. I'd love to see Pollard to get the job, at least you know it would be interesting.

thats too bad. I loved when they would show little clips of Mike and Tommy when they went on West Coast road trips. The one where Tommy went to a Seattle fish market was priceless...
I'd love for Walton to do some games. I also think Toine would actually be a good commentator. You know deep down he wishes he was still here. Im guessing it tears him up that he wasnt a part of last years team.

I'll miss Cousy.

Yes, I know it's obvious he didn't keep up with the league except when he was broadcasting.

I'll still miss Cooz.

I like the idea of cornbread doing the TV games. he is hysterical on the radio. I always enjoyed Bill Walton on the national broadcast. i might be in the minority on this one. Bill is jut arrogant and pompous at the same time he is very emotional about the game. I like the fact he is emotional about the game Tommy is also.

We should get Scott Pollard back for this one

No Walton, no Simmons (WTF???), none of these trash. I think Donny is fine and Gorman is awesome. If anyone, I'd say Max, but he does the Radio, so who knows. I'm fine with Donny Marshall.
