Re: Miles is CUT
It was the most obvious choice since he did not have a guaranteed deal. I was really pulling for the guy too seems like he really changed up his tune and just got caught up in a terrible situation with the blazers...he should get picked up hopefully it wont come back to bite us. If only we could have cut Scal.

Re: Miles is CUT
So stupid. The guy is clearly better this year than: Scal, Giddens, Cassell.
"I have conflicted feelings right now. I mean its great and all, and no way I'd change it, but does anyone else kinda feel that we got luckier than we deserved to get? It almost feels like we're the benefactor of some NBA conspiracy."

Re: Miles is CUT
It's too bad. Scal is far and away the worst player of the 16 and because Danny gave him an idiotic deal we have to cut a more deserving player. Hopefully this is with the intention of moving Scal's expiring deal next summer or at the deadline next year for something of value, because Scal isn't even close to worthy of a roster spot in the NBA. They'll have about $6 million expiring next year (about $8 million if House exercises his player option). Actually, if you count Ray Allen the team will have tons. I'd really like to see that expiring money put to use in a trade because cutting a player who is clearly more valuable than Scal and has the potential to really contribute is just ownership being cheap unless the team intends to put it to good use.

Re: Miles is CUT
It is such a blessing that our worst contract is Scal. What a great situation to be in...
Right before the deadline this year is when I hear Scal's contract will actually have value. I can def. see us moving Scal for a pick and then adding PJ or a PJ type role player for our championship run....Things could not be better right now IMO.
Its funny because the biggest problem we have is that Ainge stockpiled the roster with so much damn talent you can't get rid of anyone. LoL...

Re: Miles is CUT
I called this awhile ago.
A combination of reasons. The nonguaranteed deal of course. Also question marks about his knee persist, no one is really sure if it can hold up a full season. Didn't look like he'd be able to contribute for quite a few months regardless.
On the bright side, Danny made a classy move cutting him fairly early. Now he may have a chance to catch with another team before the start of the season. Hopefully it will work out for him.

Best of luck to him, I gained a lot of respect for him attempting the comback after such a bad injury.

Bet theres a 50/50 chance at least?
If not, then maybe he can be a sort of "insurance policy" for us should we lose someone to injury...I'm sure he is on good terms with Celtic management for giving him a shot at least....
I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure he could be resigned should a roster spot become available?

This was pretty much what was expected. I can definitely see a team picking him up around the middle of the season if he's shown he can play long minutes. I wish him luck.

I just wish we could swap the contracts of Scal and Miles. Thats just a fantasy though. I'm sad to see him go, as he was one of my favorite players back when he was athletic and flashy. I'm sure he will catch on with another playoff team looking for cheap talent. Atlanta, Dallas, LAL, Philly, and San Antonio come to mind. I wish him luck.
On a somewhat unrelated note; Is Scal the worst player in the NBA? I'd love to see each team nominate their worst player, then Stern could put them all into a one on one tournament, loser advances. Then we could find out where he stands.

Re: Miles is CUT
Ugh looks like Scal will make the team once again.
If I hear the ABC announcers say "Scal, the fan favorite around these parts" one more time, I am going to flip.
Good luck darius.

Like it or not, Scal will be the one that will fill Posey's spot at PF when we need a wing defender at that spot. Doc and Danny have both said that our defense was better with him on the floor when KG was out last year, and that means when Posey was playing there also. Scal may not be flashy but he gets the job done. He is an end of the bench player who comes in to play when needed due to injuries or matchups, and helps space the floor because he can hit the three pointer. There is a use for him on this team no matter how the consensous is around here, and you wunder why Danny laughs at the fans sometimes.
As for Miles, I had to wunder why he wasn't in better shape or be able to move better if he said that he could have played last year. If he can get a little more mobile he will make someone's roster and get a little playing time. Don't be mad at Cassell, he could be keeping the bench worm for either PJ or Mourning to sign later if needed.

I feel bad for Miles because he knows it was between him and Scal and Scal got the spot. How hard must it be being Scal knowing that you are an overpaid waste of space on this team. They should hire Scal to a practice contract so he can play in practice thats all hes good for. Guy cant even hold on to a ball, rebound, shoot, or pay defense. I'd rather have Kedrick Brown on the team, naw check that Joe Forte or maybe even Jerome Moiso
Green 17.

Yeah, I'd hate to see any of the guys we have now go on waivers.(Other than Scal of course.) Danny's come a long way and Scal is the last remaining remnant of the Danny 'What the hell is he thinking!?" Ainge.

He's not as bad a player as some fans make him out to be...
If he wasn't paid what he gets, I suspect that allot of the criticism would subside?... He's a likeable guy who has some skills....and every so often he surprises us with his ability...he's just not that consistant however..... and should be used accordingly...
IMO, he's no worse then Tony Allen as far as being consistant....They are both players who need to have their confidence levels to be high in order to be effective...
So, as fans, lets support them both!...and hope for their best performance when they get their minutes!....

No shock at all here. Once Sam got signed you had to know Miles was the odd man out unless a trade happened.
