Enjoy tonight Boston

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Wed Oct 29, 2008 8:08 am

Enjoy tonight Boston, by this time next year it will be the Lakers donning the bling. The C's beat the Lakers up in the final with a zone that a bunch of old guys could still compete by playing team D with the farily new zone rules. Look at Allen he can't guard anyone one on one, but with a zone he was protected and played very well.

Thanks to the C's dominance in the final the young, talented, and inexperienced Lakers learned a huge lesson from the C's. The Lakers are deep, they are young, they are hungry, they're in shape. PJax worked his team harder than he ever has in the preseason. The only thing he seems to be worried about is overconfidence and a full season of intensity and commitment to the defensive end. The only person that wasn't agressive and assertive was Bynum, he looked sloppy and seemed a bit aloof. You won't even recognize Radmonovic dude is quick and fit and is all over the court, I never thought I'd see the day. PP really messed him up in the final, he must have really felt embarrased, honestly, I barely recognized him in preseason or in this first game, he's a new man.

I honestly think last years run was it for the new C's. However, the C's are still the champs and are likely the East favorites. If the Lakers remain healthy they will be in the final. I hope the same for the C's. See you in the finals Beantown. Go Lakers!

Man, that's true about Allen. And the lakers are especially lucky to have Sasha Vujacic, aka the Ray Allen stopper.

Do people understand why laker fans drive me nuts? Go away you have to bring a little more to the table then you are lucky to win a championship. The Finals weren't even close.

Why? Are the Lakers handing out 2nd place rings and raising a 2nd place banner for 2008-09? Good for them.

What a troll. You still only have 1 star on your team and that's Kobe, C's have 3. Do us all a favor and STFU!

And...CUE LAKER TROLLS!!!

Seriously, though, yeah, Sasha sure did a great job on D during the playoffs. And the "new improved" Radmanovic is a defensive STOPPER now, huh? And that Gasol, what a brute!!!

Some times I pick the Fake-show to come out of the west this year, sometimes I think they won't even make it to the Finals...

But you stay classy, Faker fans...

Don't you know that according to Laker fans, last year's loss in the Finals was the BEGINNING of the new Laker dynasty? Sheesh!! (and yes, TONS of them came on here after the Finals to tell us this)

Lakers are a good team and arguably are improved over last season. I think losing the one tough big man on the roster - Turiaf - and replacing him with a 21 year old who is more concerned about his contract than a title does little to answer the big failing of LA last year. However, if Bynum continues to block shots and rebound, Odom is a pretty amazing 6th man and is a decent trading chip should LA look to upgrade its roster.

LA didn't lose because of a zone defense. LA lost because Boston punched them in the nose and they retreated rather than punch back. I don't see how they are going to repeat as WC champs let alone dethrone the Celtics. Kobe's on court character is never an issue except when he plays 1 on 5 which is probably a thing of the past. But which player on the roster other than him is a true champion? Derek Fisher. And he is old and not that good to start with.

Hatred of Boston sports and Danny Ainge in particular has more to do with the GM's picking LA than anything else. Kobe also spent a great deal of energy in the finals and then in the Olympics this year. He may not have what it takes left in the tank to carry a team of softies on his back.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Hey, don't laugh. Bynum's a huge addition. Indeed, based on the box score, it seems he was only mildly outplayed by Joel Pryzbilla last night.

LMAO. I guess the Faker fans STILL didn't learn the golden rule of basketball: DEFENSE wins championships. Until the Fakers get an elite D, they aren't going to win anything. That's the reason I was much more scared of Cleveland and Detroit than I was of LA last year.

Bynum has the potential to make them much better defensively, but if he plays like last night, I'm not so sure he's giving them much more than Turiaf. Maybe he'll work himself back into shape, or maybe the injury is lingering.

The hysterical thing is these moron Faker fans who STILL don't realize why they lost, and think we just got lucky despite it being the most lopsided 6-game finals ever. Priceless!

HOW DARE YOU CRITICIZE WiltKarAndrew JaBynumAmberlain???? Don't you know he is going to lead the Lakers to 10 titles in a row, become the greatest player of all time, and cure cancer and AIDS? Sheesh!

Don't you realize that we Celtics fans are idiots for not taking a 17-game sample and extrapolating it into a HOF career as the best player ever to walk the earth??? What's wrong with us??

I know what's wrong...we saw Mark Blount do in an entire season what Bynum did in 2 weeks, and no one thought Blount was the next coming of Kareem!!

Faker fans=delusional dopes

Oh, we did enjoy it last nite. We beat a very good defensive team with the best player, without Posey, while Sasha, Kobe & co beat a lottery team.

Great way to kick the new season.
