Tony Allen (fantasy question)

What kind of minutes are expected from Tony. Any chance he'll get close to 25 mins? Is he worth taking in a deep 12 team 17 player roster league. Thanks

depends on your scoring, he's good for points, pretty high efficiency, will get a good amount of steals & FTs, perhaps some assists if preseason is any indication. The turnovers might be a big negative. His minutes will probably be around 20 +/-3 depending on how he does. My guess is that in your league he'll probably be picked up, but will be on the bench most of the time. If I were you I'd look for some players who are backup point guards able to play the SG position over taking someone like Tony. Jarret Jack, for instance, should get more time than TA and have more assists. Another bench guy who would be good is Lou williams, but he's probably gone. Corey Brewer will get more time and probably contribute more in rebounds and steals than TA, but be less efficient. In most leagues Brewer should be able to play a lot of positions.

I'd guess TA's stats will be around 12 ppg, 3 reb, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.5 TOs, on just under 50% shooting.

Thanks for the well thought out analysis. Tony's gone now! No TO in the pool. Jack was taken. I actually like Aaron Brooks on Houston backing up Alston. Helpful advice
