Re: Celts Interested In McDyess!
Cut POB and sign McDyess. That would be the best plan of attack!

McDyess would be a great pickup, and he'd get his chance at a championship! Talk about motivation.

Re: Celts Interested In McDyess!
We should be. He would be a great pickup. I'd hope we'd cut Scal not POB. or trade Davis for a 2nd rounder; maybe GS?

Oh man, he would look great in green. He would be well-loved like PJ Brown.

McDyess' game has definitely declined, however, the 15 foot jumper he relies on these days would fit perfectly into the C's system.

I hope we can get him, he killed us in the playoffs and he's a great guy to mentor Powe and BBD.

Yep, he's just what the Doc ordered. C'mon Dice, sign with the Celtics and get back at Detroit while also getting your ring!

Re: Celts Interested In McDyess!
I don't know if we can cut POB just like that. We did sign him for 2 years for a reason and we don't have any big man help after him.
I'd hope we can cut Sam I am and sign McNice... then we'd probuly have to trade Powe for a 2nd and re-sign Sam. McNice should be getting Powe's minutes anyways and he's the only one with enough value that someone might send a second round pick to ensure signing him... unlikely but possibly!

Am I the only one here who thinks Powe is better than McDyess? I mean, I'd love to have the guy as our 4th big since he's certainly an upgrade over Davis, but people talking about trading Leon for a 2nd rounder to make room for McDyess sounds pretty crazy to me.

no.
antonio certainly has skills and length we could use, but powe brings grit and post play dice never brought before his injuries, let alone now.
funny that so many think powe is more dispensable than our fourth PG, even though our resident scouts and stat experts rave about powe. apparently analysis means little or nothing.

Powe is a better option, but McDyess is a far better option than BBD or POB (from what I can gauge).
Get it done.

Dice would be a nice add for the Celtics. To be honest I would just cut Casell and add him to the coaching team. If something was later to happen I would assume the C's could just sign him again?

Celtic Truth:
Welcome to the video era. Analysis does not matter.

Powe is worth way more than a 2nd round pick. And he's not on the block. He'll sign a Perkin's type contract.
McDyess would be great veteran minimum signing. I don't know who moves, but if it is Powe, than it's going to take a lot more than a second. I'd put his value to the Celtics as a lottery first. And even then we have a bird in the hand.

Re: Celts Interested In McDyess!
I don't think he will want to sign with us. He was never a big friend with KG going back to Minny days when they had their feud. He also said he doesn't want to be a ring chaser either. I'd love to have him but my gut feeling is telling me he's going back to Detroit after 30 days. But to be honest, even if we do get him I don't want him playing more than 10 min a game or so. Powe and BBD earned their minutes on this team esp. POWE.

Re: Celts Interested In McDyess!
I'd love for the C's to pick up McDyess but it would create somewhat of a logjam up front. Perkins seems like he's poised for increased minutes this season and Baby-Powe have both brought critical elements to the team. Frankly I wouldn't want to get rid of any of our bigs. Cassell seems to be the most expendable.
Another note on Big Baby, he's been downright awesome lately. Defense and rebounding and picks. Energy. If he starts hitting the jumpshot he'd be on his way towards becoming a really good bench player. And Powe is probably one of the best scorer in short spurts type players in the NBA. He has a ton of value for this team.
