...to meet president elect senator Obama at the white house. So, this comes as even more motivation to work hard to defend their NBA championship. Oh, this was mentioned by the host on WEEI not long ago.

Apparently, it was revealed recently that fourteen out of the fifteen Celtics players were in support of Obama prior to Tuesday. Moreover, Garnett wore special--one-time only--sneakers to promote voting in 2008 for the Houston game on Tuesday evening.

Did Stern approve these? He must've...

hate to birst the bubble but this is old news. rondo said in the globe on sunday or monday in notes that 14 of 15 players were pro obama. i know not everyone lives in boston, but for those who dont already, i recommend always reading the globe and herald (free on their websites www.boston.com and www.bostonherald.com) because the beat writers are always on top of this stuff.

for anyone else who missed it, KG wanted an obama specific message but the NBA denied it, but did approve the generic message shown above t be worn by KG and TMac.

doc rivers had planned on hosting an event for obama at his home, but this was at the same time the financial crisis really hit so it went by the wayside

The shoes worn by Houston looks like they are Republicans..lol why go with the red color. Use blue or green like we did.

It must have been Scal...he's the only white guy, and NONE of the black players would ever have voted for McCain. Not being racist, but that's the way it is.

4% of all black voters in the nation voted non-Barack. So it is possible theoretically that someone voted for McCain.

Yes, it is racist. If 96% of black voters chose Obama, how is that not racist? You can't tell me all 96% of them agreed with his policies. They voted for him purely on the color of his skin. That, is racist.

I agree with you....I was saying *I* wasn't being racist in pointing this out.

And I love how all we heard about was that Obama was going to lose because whites are racist and wouldn't vote for him (false, obviously) yet 96+% of blacks did, based solely cos he was black, and that was OK.

The Dems are the ultimate "do as I say not as I do" party (in EVERY area of life)! :lol:

Actually, you are both wrong. 85-90% of blacks usually vote for the Democratic ticket and until now Democrats have always been white. So were African Americans racist when a very high percentage voted for white Democrats? And what about the white Hillary voters who voted against their own interests and voted for McCain instead of voting the Democrat (Obama). Were they racists? Also, I am African American and I did not vote for Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton when they ran. The African-Americans I know would not have voted for Barack Obama if he was a joke of a candidate.

Maxwell joked that it was Scalabrine. I think Rivers was in support of Obama but his staff could've taken the opposite view.

I think it was Scal. The reason is because when Rondo was asked who was the one person who didn't vote Obama. He said something like "look around, who do you think?" I think I read it in the Sunday Globe.

Actually, it's completely racist to say something like 96% of blacks voted for Obama "solely because he was black." And fairly racist to imply in the first place that no blacks would vote for McCain - especially rich blacks. I saw an article mentioning how many Redskins players regardless of race were split on the election because of how it would affect their paychecks.
*Forgot to mention how, Gilbert Arenas in particular has mentioned how he was on the fence.*

Well, maybe not completely racist, but completely stupid.

Luckily we proved Tuesday that the American people are a lot less racist and a lot less stupid than we thought. But it's no surprise that the remaining racist and stupid people are going to try to use it as some kind of evidence that there are no such thing as stupid and racist whites anymore...

Go ahead and keep whining about how racist you think blacks are and how hypocritical you think democrats are, we proved Tuesday that the choir you think you're preaching to is considerably smaller than it used to be. And while you're at it, maybe you should reconsider rooting for a team that you apparently think consists of 14 racists out of 15; by the way how many non-white candidates have you supported for president? We've had decades of rule by Democrats and Republicans so I'm very disappointed that third party candidates are being treated the way they are. I am not going to think differently of the Celtics even if they feel differently as far as politics go.
