Wallace averages 18 a game, he is a GREAT defender and athlete! And has a decent contract.

ray allen is a hall of famer. gerald wallace is a nice player who is injury prone. we don't have what it takes salary wise to get him so I don't see anyway this deal gets done.

He may average 18 ppg, but it's the way he scores it. It is all hustle and being in the right place. He cannot shoot. WIthout Ray, we cannot space the floor.

Would you please stop trading Ray. Wallace is a nice player but Allen is a much better fit here and still a better player.

Good god, no!!! Will it ever end? We just won a championship where Ray very well could have been the MVP and you want to trade him for Gerald freaking Wallace? Just absurd.

Wallace is averaging 19.5/9 shooting 53% and over 60% from 3 and while the 3pt shooting is out of hand that is who he has been the last 2 seasons as well. I don't care how he does it he is one of the best combo forwards in the game probably better than Marion. I don't have any interest in trading Ray Allen but Gerald Wallace is a championship caliber player he just isn't a primary scoring option.

I don't know if there are 10 guys in the league I would move Wallace for based ability, age, and money. The only thing that I can come up with that makes sense is Carmelo Anthony. So many of the top players in the league have recently moved teams or signed extensions. They could package up Wallace with Felton or be involved in a blockbuster that adds Morrison and May to that mix and up taking on K-Mart wth Anthony.

This can't be said enough. At this moment at their current level of play the Boston Celtics have the best starting 5 in the NBA. Not just based on individual greatness which is certainly there but in the way each player compliments the other 5. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts and that says a lot when you are talking about 3 HOF's.

Ray, just like the other 4 starters, is actually more valuable to the Boston Celtics than he is to any other team. Not that Kobe isn't better but Kobe isn't going to put up with 6 shots on a given night. Nobody else has Pierce and KG so to them Ray is a SG on wrong side of 30 not a perfect compliment.

When I tell you there is no way this team is trading Ray Allen it isn't simply about loyalty, he is the perfect fit for this team. He is one of the great shooters in the history of the league and had the 4th best shooting year of his HOF career last season. Some nights he can't cover up a bad shooting night by purely volume shooting and dominating the offense but he is still the same marksman he has always been and now he is just a much better defender.

I agree, I'm so **** sick of all the "trade Ray" ****...we had it all last **** year and even after winning a title, which HE HAD A MAJOR HAND IN, people want to dump him, a probably HOFer, for an unproven young who gets hurt a lot....**** NO!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Ray WILL be traded either this year or next, it is going to happen, I just feel this is very good value for him. My opinion, sorry if you do not agree.

This team is all about spacing. Paul, KG and Ray are elite snipers from deep. Rajon and Perk are so effective because they get lot of space to roam. Gerald Wallace is a slasher and thinks as a slasher. Swap Ray and Wallace and you would probably kill the Celts in offense.

Guys like Korver, Barry or Redd would be much more valuable to the first unit than GW or Maggette.

KG, Paul and Ray's games are so complementary that if you change it, you could mess it up.

So, no thanks!!

I don't agree. He is better then anything on the block right now. His contract comes off the books at the perfrect time. Why would we trade that asset this year? Maybe, just maybe if next years trading deadline a young star is on the block, and ray has declined.

You can't even come up with a plausible reason why this will happen. What are we trading Ray Allen for exactly, another Ray Allen? There aren't 5 SG's in the league better than him right now and who is going to want Ray if his game falls off?

We don't want to get younger now, we want to get younger two years from now. If we can't create cap space after Ray's contract expires we can bring him back at less money or use him in a KVH type S&T if so many teams are lined up to piss away a bunch a money on an over the hill SG.

Do you know what breaking up a championship team gets you? The Jerry Krause's Bulls and the Lakers after Shaq. While you don't want to be the '91 Boston Celtics either there is a big difference between slamming the door on a contender and not letting go after 5 years. Age and contracts is no reason to start moving chairs around you let what is happening on the court dictate that.
